Thanks to everyone at Boone County Community Foundation and Boone Memorial Health and the Boone Memorial Health Foundation for a wonderful day! It was a pleasure learning about all the fantastic work your organizations are doing to make Boone County an even better place to live and work!

Boone County recently welcomed Jennifer Goddard of Philanthropy West Virginia for a tour highlighting ongoing community development and revitalization efforts throughout the region.

Joining Jennifer were Connie Phillips, Director of the Boone County Community Foundation (BCCF); Chip Shaffer, BCCF Board Member; Victor Farmer, Director of the Boone Memorial Hospital Foundation for Community Health.

The tour showcased several impactful projects, including Market on Main, the progress of the Boone Innovation Hub and Commercial Kitchen, and the Versa Court at Bob Gee Park in Danville. The visit concluded with a meeting at Boone Memorial Health alongside Ray Harrell, General Counsel and Chief External Affairs Officer.

Philanthropy West Virginia serves as a statewide network that brings funders together to exchange ideas, explore shared interests, strengthen grantmaking efforts, and build meaningful partnerships that support communities across West Virginia.

This visit was made possible following a recent roundtable discussion hosted by The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation, where Victor Farmer and Chip Shaffer participated alongside regional leaders to discuss opportunities for collaboration and community investment.
