We moved from Pennsylvania to Mechanicsville, VA two years ago. We have begun to raise Monarchs butterflies again when we planted swamp, tropical and common milkweed on our property this year. As a result, the Monarchs found us and we were able to raise and release 170 for the migration. We live in a senior, HOA community so we are limited to flower pots and some flower bed space. We were able to use our screened porch with rearing cages and plastic shoeboxes to have a good season. Maybe we will get back into the Univ. of Kansas Monarch Watch tagging program by next year. Our neighbors enjoyed helping us release our Monarchs.
