Let’s put to rest for good the false assumptions that bottle-feeding is “easier” for preemies than breastfeeding. Acording to this 2026 RCT, at their first feeding by mouth, preemies breastfed had measurably better oxygen levels and heart rates compared with those whose first oral feed was by bottle. We are excited to welcome the first baby of the New Year! 🎉
This sweet baby girl was born at Adventist Health Sonora at 7:45 a.m. on New Year’s Day. The new family was delighted to receive a beautiful assortment of gifts generously donated by local businesses to help celebrate this special arrival.

A big thank-you to Nature’s Whole Food Depot, Little Roots Toys, and Dandelions Consignment for their generosity and for helping us warmly welcome the newest member of our community.

What an amazing World Breastfeeding Week Celebration!

We had such a wonderful time celebrating World Breastfeeding Week with our community!

A huge thank-you to all of our vendors, community partners, and of course Kona Ice for adding some extra sweetness to the day!

It was incredible to see families come together to learn, share, and celebrate the importance of breastfeeding and community support. Your energy and participation made this event truly special!

We’re already looking forward to next year!

We are pleased to announce that this years "Breastfeeding Friendly Business" award goes to Mact Health Board!
They were nominated by an employee who said, "My HR staff kept in touch with me through my entire maternity leave. When I came back I informed them of what I would need in order to keep my baby fed while at work, a room with a lock, and a place to plug in my pump, as well as a few extra breaks. They were extremely accommodating and the head of hr came a couple weeks into my transition back to work to check in and see how things were going. Breastfeeding can be stressful but I felt very supported and they were able to listen and give me the time and things that I needed. All and all a great company to work for".

Thank you to the MACT Health Board for all that they do to support and protect breastfeeding in our community.
