Today the Somerset County Sheriff's Office welcomed Sheriff's Officer Michael Cintron to our agency. Sheriff Darrin Russo administered the Oath of Office to swear him in. Officer Cintron joins us from previously serving in the Piscataway Twp. Police Department and is excited to serve alongside us in Somerset County.

On Memorial Day, Sheriff Darrin Russo and and the Somerset County Sheriff's Office was honored to march in the Franklin Township Memorial Day Parade and participate in the remembrance service afterwards. We use this day to pay tribute and honor to our Nation's fallen soldiers.

This week our Somerset County Sheriff's Office was honored to be a part of "Proud to be an American Day" hosted by the students of the Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School in Raritan Borough. The students honored military heroes that made the ultimate sacrifice and welcomed their families for a recognition ceremony. Students from the Union High School Junior ROTC and many community leaders joined us. Sheriff Darrin Russo along with Somerset County Commissioner Director Shanel Robinson, Raritan Borough Mayor Don Tozzi & NJ Veterans Network President Michael Boll made moving remarks about the sacrifice and service of our military veterans and fallen heroes. Special thanks to the US Marine Corps for landing several military helicopters despite the inclement weather. ❤️

We were honored to host the Aruba Police Force (Korps Politie Aruba) to visit Somerset County in honor of Police Week 2026. Sheriff Darrin Russo & Prosecutor John McDonald were joined by Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephen's, Warren Twp. Police Chief Robert Ferrero, North Plainfield Police Chief Alan McKay and members of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office Command Staff to welcome these officers from the Dutch Caribbean. We hosted a ceremony honoring their visit and welcoming them to the USA.

Yesterday the 200 Club of Somerset County held its Valor Awards and Scholarship Luncheon. Sheriff Darrin Russo and the leadership of the Somerset County Sheriff's Office attended this event which recognized law enforcement officers who displayed bravery and valor. Officers from Bridgewater Twp. PD, Manville PD, Somerville PD & the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office were honored. In addition, some outstanding college bound students who are the children of first responders were presented with college scholarships. Congratulations to all of the honorees!

The Somerset County Sheriff's Office was excited to welcome Alex Mann to meet Sheriff Darrin Russo and members of our agency. Alex is an autism awareness advocate and has made it his mission to visit hundreds of law enforcement agencies nationwide. Diagnosed with autism himself, Alex loves to interact with officers to build relationships. Thank you for spending time with us at the Somerset County Sheriff's Office.
