📣 Attention Students!

Just a reminder for our rising seniors. There are several college fly-in programs currently open for low-income students. These are amazing opportunities to visit campuses, connect with admissions, and explore your options for free.

This is also a great time to begin working on your personal statement and getting a head start on your college applications. Some applications are already open, so the earlier you start, the more prepared and less stressed you will be.

For both rising seniors and juniors, now is also the time to start thinking seriously about the ACT and SAT. Seniors should try to take their tests this summer or in August so they can focus on applications during the school year. Juniors should aim to get an early start so they can become familiar with the test and have multiple chances to take it if needed.

For our rising juniors, this summer is your time. Make the most of it:
✨ Get a job
✨ Find an internship
✨ Start a project or passion
✨ Build something meaningful you can carry into your college applications

Summer program applications for next year will be opening in the coming months, so now is the time to start thinking about how you want to spend your summer before senior year.

🌱 Help Our Garden Grow! 🌱

The Boys & Girls Club of Somerset is currently in need of soil and compost for our community garden project! Our kiddos are working hard to learn about gardening, healthy eating, responsibility, and teamwork — and we need your help to keep growing. 🪴💚

We are accepting:
• Bags of garden soil
• Compost
• Raised bed soil
• Potting mix
• Garden donations of any kind

Donations can be dropped off at the Club during operating hours. Every bag helps us create a hands-on learning space for our youth this summer! 🌞

🚧 Rock the Block Makeup Day 🚧

During Rock the Block, we weren’t able to finish one of the projects, so we’re coming back this Saturday at 9:00 AM, weather permitting, to wrap it up! We may also still have a few other projects to finish on another day in the future.

We’re looking for around 6–8 volunteers to help dig a trench at the property. If you can dig with a shovel, we could really use your help. 💙

Even a couple of hours can make a big difference as we continue serving our community together.
