Mission Statement

Members of the Marine Corps League join together in camaraderie and fellowship for the purpose of preserving the traditions and promoting the interests of the United States Marine Corps,

banding together those who are now serving in the Marine Corps. Description
The Marine Corps League perpetuates the traditions and spirit of ALL Marines and Navy FMF Corpsmen, who proudly wear or who have worn the eagle, globe and anchor of the Corps. It takes great pride in crediting its founding in 1923 to World War I hero, then Major General Commandant John A. It takes equal pride in its Federal Charter, approved by An Act of the Seventy-Fifth Congress of the United States of America and signed and approved by President Franklin D. The League is the only Federally Chartered Marine Corps related veterans organization in the country. General Information
The League participates in patriotic functions such as the National Memorial Day Parade and the National 4th of July Parade in Washington as well as countless statewide and community parades around the country. We provide representation to the U.S. Congress in legislative matters affecting the United States Marine Corps, national security and veteran’s benefits through our National Legislative Committee. Most importantly, Marine Corps League Detachments are actively involved in Community based programs throughout the country. Disclaimer:

Not where it all began, but indeed a huge cog in the machine. Chesty was awesome. 🇺🇸

Pass it on and help if you can. 🇺🇸

Just a warning—there’s a pretty slick phishing scam hitting Sioux Falls numbers right now. They’re using 605 and 703 area codes and actually mentioning South Dakota in the text to make it look legit.
The Play: They text you some "intel" about the Iran/Israel situation that most of us are already tracking anyway. Once they think you’re listening, they ask if you’ll "show support online" and drop a link to some "thetruthabout" website.
It’s a trap. They’re looking to harvest your social media logins or drop malware on your phone. I just got hit by one—didn't click anything, told ‘em where to go, and reported it as spam.
If you get one, don't bite. Just block the number and move on. Keep the perimeter secure.

The Detachment would like to extend their great appreciation to American Legion Post 15, The Alliance staff, Rolling Thunder, Leathernecks MC, Patriot Guard Riders, Sioux Falls Police Department, Miller Funeral Home, Marine Reserve from Omaha and Sons of American Legion as well as many others for their assistance and participation in the celebration of life of Major J. Mark Heisey on Saturday. Every component from the es**rt from the funeral home to the Alliance, the service itself, the Honor Guard and Color Guard salute and all parts in between went very well. We could tell Mark was looking down on us as beautiful weather was provided all day.
Chef Dominique’s provided a great meal after the service as well. If you left hungry you did it wrong. 😄

Mark will be missed, but we’ve all taken a piece of him with us to carry on his legacy of pride and tradition.

Chuck Norris didn't join the Marine Corps...the Marine Corps applied to him.

Heaven’s streets have always been guarded by Marines. Today, Chuck Norris reported for duty.

We mourn the passing of Chuck Norris, a United States Air Force veteran, who also became an honorary Marine in 2007 when awarded the title by then Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen. James T. Conway.

Chuck Norris is one of just over 100 individuals to be awarded the title of Honorary Marine in the entire 250-year history of the Corps.

Some missions may require a battalion, but this one just requires an Honorary Marine.
