Heiman Fire Equipment recently finished construction on a brand new manufacturing facility and office in Sioux Falls, SD. This 39,094 square foot, energy efficient building features a 27,332 sq. production area, two-story office, state of the art downdraft paint booth, indoor pump test tank, SCBA and electronics testing & diagnostic center, a truck delivery showroom, customer lounge, and much more. The new facility combines all three local divisions of Heiman Fire under one roof. Heiman Fire’s sister company, G3 Fire, which fabricates copolymer polypropylene tanks and products, is now housed in the former truck plant. Rosenbauer truck sales are currently managed in house as well. This allows for more efficient communication and workflow between all divisions of the company, and provides customers with knowledgeable staff during every phase of the purchasing process. showroom, fire departments are now able to take delivery of their new apparatus in-house and walk through each component with their sales reps within the comfort of the facility. Questions, demonstrations, and additions can be addressed and completed efficiently during this time. Innovation is reflected in every aspect of the building from the energy efficient, automatic LED lighting and radiant floor heating, to the 15,000 gallon in-floor pump test tank. A key new added feature is the downdraft paint booth which pulls paint overspray and contaminants downward and away from the painted object. This reduces the risk of dust and overspray contamination and provides a safer environment for the painter since the overspray is instantly pulled down and away. This also allows for a cleaner finish and less corrections after paint is dry. The building also features a two-story rock climbing wall, and a fitness room for employees.

Minimal downtime. That’s the design objective.
The MARK‑3® detachable pump end is built for fast serviceability:
• Quick‑release clamp
• Rapid pump‑end swaps in the field
The real protection is built into the drive coupling:
• Internal ribs act as a sacrificial component
• If the pump end binds or jams, the ribs shear
• The engine is allowed to overspeed safely
• Crankshaft and core engine components stay protected
Instead of a full engine teardown,
the repair is isolated to the pump end.
Less downtime. Simpler repairs. Smarter protection by design.

minimal‑downtime pump • detachable pump end • sacrificial coupling • field maintenance • MARK‑3 portable fire pump • wildfire pump operations

Gary shows what happens when all you’ve cut are the A‑posts on both sides. With everything else left intact, the ram tells the story: the sound changes, the load shifts, and you can actually watch the force transfer down into the B‑post instead of giving you pure lift.
The result? The A‑post begins to deform and the entire vehicle starts coming off the ground. A perfect reminder that your cuts dictate how the ram behaves.

If the RTX is the future, the T-Rex is the powerhouse. 🦾🔥

The Rosenbauer T-Rex is the world’s most advanced articulating platform, and it’s officially coming to Ignite. This isn’t just a ladder; it’s a multi-purpose beast designed for high-reach rescues and heavy-duty suppression.

Why the T-Rex is a "Cheat Code" for your fleet:

Articulating Reach: Get over obstacles and into tight spots that standard ladders can’t touch. 🪜

Pump Performance: 2000 GPM. This rig doesn't just reach the fire; it drowns it. 💧

Versatility: It’s a pumper, an aerial, and a rescue unit all in one.

The Gear to Match the Rig:
You don’t operate an 11’ 10” tall platform in civilian clothes. In Ignite, you’re kitted out in Fire-Dex AeroFlex®. As a Fire-Dex dealer, we recommend this for the T-Rex pilots because the articulation of the gear matches the articulation of the truck. 🛡️🤸‍♂️

High-mobility gear for a high-mobility rig. That’s how you win.

At Heiman Fire, we carry Fire‑Dex AeroFlex turnouts because heat stress is a real operational issue—not a marketing talking point.
AeroVent ventilation is built into the design, using natural body movement to increase airflow throughout the gear. As firefighters advance, bend, crawl, and work, the ventilation zones activate—helping release heat and moisture instead of trapping it.
The result is continuous cooling, improved comfort, and reduced heat buildup during extended operations.
It’s smart turnout design backed by real science—and one more reason departments look to Fire‑Dex when firefighter safety comes first.

Gary drops a quick reality check on “pinching the post.”
Yeah, you can squeeze the A‑post with your spreader… but the second those jaws bite, that glass will pop every single time. 💥
It might look clean in theory, but in practice? Flying glass, extra hazards, and zero benefit.
There are better ways to make that purchase point—this just isn’t one of them.
