Celebrating Labor Day at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum

This September 7th, we recognize Labor Day and the generations of American workers whose skills, dedication, innovation, and determination have helped build and strengthen our nation.

From the factories and farms of yesterday to the classrooms, offices, small businesses, public services, and emerging industries of today, America’s workforce continues to move our country forward.

As President Reagan said, “The best social program is a productive job for anyone who’s willing to work.”

On Labor Day, we celebrate the hardworking people—past and present—who contribute every day to the American story.

Happy Labor Day from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Founding Friends, Founding Foes: Civic Friendship, Rivalry, & Coalition-Building in the Age of John Adams and Thomas Jefferson!

We were honored to welcome the Adams Presidential Center and Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum for an inspiring conversation about friendship, rivalry, disagreement, and finding common ground.

A special thank you to our panelists, educators, partners, and guests who helped make the evening so memorable.

As we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, we hope the stories of Adams and Jefferson continue to inspire thoughtful dialogue about the ideas, relationships, and shared ideals that helped shape our nation.

Happy Birthday, National Park Service!

On August 25, 1916, the National Park Service was created to protect America’s natural and cultural treasures for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of generations to come. Today, the NPS cares for more than 400 national parks and helps preserve the places where our nation’s stories unfolded.

Here at The Situation Room Experience on the campus, we’re proud that one of those historic places helped inspire our own experience.

Our Washington’s Cabinet simulation room is patterned after Congress Hall at Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia—the building where the U.S. Congress met from 1790 to 1800, including during President George Washington’s second term.

When participants step into Washington’s Cabinet, they aren’t just entering a simulation. They’re stepping into an environment inspired by a National Park Service site that witnessed the earliest years of our nation’s government.

This August 25, join us in wishing the National Park Service a very happy birthday and celebrating the places that preserve—and continue to inspire—America’s story.

From the first flight to the final frontier!

In honor of , we’re highlighting a remarkable piece of aviation history on display at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

In April 1985, a piece of fabric from the Wright brothers’ 1903 Wright Flyer—the world’s first successful piloted, powered airplane—traveled aboard Space Shuttle Discovery during Mission 51-D. Just two months later, on June 19, 1985, National Air and Space Museum Director Walter J. Boyne presented the historic artifact to President Ronald Reagan.

From Kitty Hawk to space, this small piece of fabric represents an extraordinary journey through more than eight decades of American innovation and exploration.
Visit the Reagan Library to see this unique artifact from the National Archives on display.

Celebrating 10 Years of Leadership at the Situation Room Experience!

This month marks a major milestone at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum as we celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Situation Room Experience!

For the past decade, thousands of students, educators, and professional groups have stepped into the roles of national leaders, advisors, and emergency responders through our immersive leadership simulations.

More than just a field trip or team-building activity, the Situation Room Experience challenges participants to think critically, communicate effectively, collaborate under pressure, and make informed decisions in real time.

Guests can choose from three engaging simulations:

*Constitutional Crisis – Navigate a national emergency while balancing the powers of the three branches of government.
*Washington's Cabinet – Advise President George Washington as the nation's first Cabinet confronts pivotal decisions in American history.
*California Wildfires – Work together as emergency officials and community leaders to respond to an evolving statewide disaster.

Throughout the past ten years, the Situation Room Experience has helped develop the leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills that prepare participants for success in school, the workplace, and their communities.

We are incredibly grateful to the educators, students, corporate teams, community organizations, and supporters who have been part of this journey. Your participation has helped make the Situation Room Experience one of the Reagan Library's most impactful educational programs.

Join us this fall as we celebrate 10 years of inspiring tomorrow's leaders—one decision at a time. Visit situationroom.archives.gov to learn more and to book your experience today!
