Our annual LCAP and Budget Public Hearings were informative as always. We also received very encouraging reports from our Curriculum and Instruction as well as Student Services departments. Our investments are paying off and our students are benefitting - the future is bright at Stan Union!

I'm super excited to announce the endorsement of the United Association of Plumbers and Steamfitters, Local 442. They have been amazing supporters of mine since Day 1! Their members are working hard on the Stanislaus Elementary Reconstruction Project, and I'm happy of the partnership we have built.

Thursday is our first board meeting of June. We have 2 board meetings this month. We will host a public hearing on the LCAP and budget this week and will vote on them next week. We continue to have positive budget projections for our next 3 years.

I'm excited to share another endorsement, this one from the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 3. They represent several different classification and bargaining groups across the county, including our county's 911 dispatchers. I'm proud to have their support!

I have officially gone through my first curriculum adoption process! Stan Union has a new math curriculum starting next school year for all grades - K-8! I learned so much about the process last night and all the hard work that our staff went though - it was amazing to hear the excitement and I can't wait to see the results!

Since I've been on the board, I have been a consistent advocate for our staff so it means a lot to me to have earned the endorsement of our classified staff and school employees! My mom was a CSEA member before she retired and I know what an important role our classified staff play at each school site. I'm honored to have their support for re-election!

Our next board meeting will be Thursday. Of note, we will be adopting a new math curriculum and having a public hearing regarding the adoption.
