CFD1 members spent the day training in rope rescue operations at the bike trail park alongside our neighboring departments.

Thank you to Caddo Fire District 7 for hosting the training, and to Caddo Fire District 3, Caddo Fire District 4, and Caddo Fire District 8, along with Shreveport Fire Department, for working together to make the day a success. Training together makes all of us stronger and better prepared to serve our communities. 🚒🪢

It is with heavy hearts that we continue to mourn the loss of our brother, Deputy Chief Scott Durfee.

Right now, our focus is on taking care of his family—just as he always took care of us.

For those asking how to help, a donation account has been set up for his wife, Sherry Durfee:

Barksdale Federal Credit Union

Please continue to keep Sherry and the entire Durfee family in your thoughts and prayers.

We’ll take it from here, Chief.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Deputy Chief Scott Durfee, who died this morning surrounded by those who loved him.

Deputy Chief Scott Durfee dedicated his life to serving God, his family, our community, and the fire service. Over the course of his career, he was more than a leader — he was a mentor, a teacher, and a brother to the firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, and all members of our department who had the privilege of serving beside him. His faith, leadership, and commitment to others left a lasting impact that will never be forgotten.

We ask that you keep his family, friends, and our entire fire department family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Funeral arrangements and opportunities to honor Deputy Chief Scott Durfee will be shared as they become available.

Rest easy, Chief. We have the watch from here.

❄️🚨ATTENTION🚨❄️

Heads up everyone—icy conditions are expected this weekend and roads may become unsafe to travel.

Now is a good time to:
• Fill any prescriptions
• Pick up food, water, and essentials
• Make sure you’re prepared for possible power outages
• Charge phones and backup batteries

If roads ice over, travel may not be possible for a period of time. A little preparation now can make a big difference.
