About me: I was born and raised in the south Texas area known as the Rio Grande Valley. I graduated from Donna High School in 1996. I was a migrant worker, working in the sugar beet fields by the Hagerman, Idaho area. My experience working in the agriculture and service industry prepared me well for my career in law enforcement. I fully appreciate how hard our citizens work and pledge to protect their families, homes and businesses. After I graduated, I returned to Idaho and attended the College of Southern Idaho where I received my Technical Certificate in Auto Body in 1999. After working in some body shops in the Twin Falls, Idaho area, I was hired by Bigwood Collision Specialists in Bellevue, Idaho. After the shop was closed down, I joined the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office in Hailey, Idaho in 2004. I worked in the detention center before starting my patrol career in 2007. I worked in the City of Bellevue, through the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office until 2011 when the City of Hailey took over the law enforcement services. I worked for the City of Hailey in Bellevue until 2013. Also in 2013, I joined the Shoshone Police Department. The time spent at the Shoshone Police Department, has allowed me to professionally develop and learn about the importance of Community Policing. In addition, I am fully committed to school safety and working with our educators in creating a safe, friendly, and drug-free environment for our children to learn. During my law enforcement career, I received my Basic/Level 1 Certificate as a detention/jail deputy. I also received my Basic Certificate in Marine (Waterway) Patrol. I received my Intermediate Certificate from the Idaho Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) while working at the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office. Last February I was awarded the Advanced Certificate from POST. During my time in law enforcement, I have worked as a jail deputy, patrol deputy, patrol corporal, patrol sergeant, administrative sergeant, grants manager, operations sergeant and evidence custodian. I am happily married to my wonderful wife, Kristina. We have been married for fifteen years. We have had seven children, two wonderful girls and five great boys. My oldest, Samantha, graduated from Richfield High School in 2014. She went on to attend the College of Southern Idaho and now resides in California. We still have six of our kids at home. We are both active in their educational needs in partnership with the Richfield Schools. Kristina and I are both active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS).
