We're glad to see programs like this gaining traction across the country.

The Grayson County Sheriff's Office has been offering The Solution Program in our jail for some time now as part of our ongoing commitment to reducing recidivism and helping inmates build a path toward a more productive future. The program focuses on personal responsibility, recovery, emotional intelligence, and practical life skills that can help participants make positive changes both during incarceration and after release.

While accountability remains an important part of the criminal justice system, we also recognize the value of providing opportunities for individuals to address the underlying issues that contributed to their involvement in the system. Programs like The Solution Program help equip participants with tools to make better decisions, strengthen family relationships, and become productive members of their communities.

We're encouraged to see more agencies embracing innovative approaches to rehabilitation and reentry, and we're proud to continue offering these opportunities here in Grayson County.

Our office is excited to announce the launch of a new jail program focused specifically on substance addiction and abuse. This initiative is funded through the Stearns County Opioid Settlement Funds.

“We are excited to train our staff in the delivery of this new program that will help our inmate population become healthier, think better, and make better choices for themselves. By doing so, they will gain skills that help them once released and, over time, reduce the chances that they return to a correctional setting,” said Sheriff Soyka.

The Solution Program is a 12 week reentry and entrepreneurship training program designed for individuals in jails, detention centers, and communities impacted by addiction, incarceration, and destructive thinking patterns.

“We teach emotional intelligence, recovery principles, personal responsibility, and felony friendly business skills so people can rebuild their lives with a real plan. This isn’t theory. It’s built from lived experience, law enforcement partnership, and real work inside facilities. The goal is simple: reduce recidivism, restore families, and help people become productive, accountable members of their community.”

A vehicle traveling the wrong way on Highway 82 is every bit as dangerous as a bullet flying down the roadway.

Last night, Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Travis Lynn responded to reports of an alleged intoxicated driver traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Highway 82.

Knowing that every second mattered and that families could be approaching the danger ahead, Deputy Lynn put himself between that threat and the public he serves.

During the incident, Deputy Lynn’s patrol vehicle was struck by the suspect vehicle. He sustained minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.

The driver, 33 year old Cassandra Grisolia, was taken into custody and faces charges with DWI 2nd.

Law enforcement officers often encounter danger that most people never see. Sometimes protecting the public means willingly stepping into harm’s way so that others can make it home safely.

We are proud of Deputy Lynn and grateful for his courage, professionalism, and commitment to protecting the citizens of Grayson County.

Please join us in wishing Deputy Lynn a speedy recovery.

Yesterday, Sheriff Tony Bennie had the honor of serving as the keynote speaker for the Class #111 and Class #30 graduation ceremony at the Texoma Regional Police Academy at Grayson College.

During his remarks, Sheriff Bennie spoke about answering the call to serve as a law enforcement officer and encouraging graduates to embrace the responsibility, sacrifice, and commitment that come with wearing the badge. Drawing from the books of Matthew and Romans, he challenged the graduates to lead with integrity, humility, and a servant's heart as they begin their careers in public safety.

We would also like to congratulate Grayson County Sheriff's Office Corporal Brianna Robbins, who was selected to deliver the valedictorian address for Class #111, an honor that reflects her hard work, dedication, and leadership throughout the academy.

A special thank you to Justice of the Peace Dennis Michaels for assisting with the swearing-in ceremony for Corporal Robbins and Deputy Jorge Montes.

Deputy Montes attended the academy through the Grayson County Sheriff's Office Deputy Advancement Program and has applied for a position in Patrol. Both Corporal Robbins and Deputy Montes will now move on to the next phase of their law enforcement journey as they enter the Field Training Program.

Congratulations to all the graduates of Class #111 and Class #30. We wish you success and safety as you begin your careers serving your communities.

While much of Grayson County sleeps, the calls for help continue. Crashes, disturbances, suspicious activity, medical emergencies, and crimes in progress do not stop when the sun goes down, and neither do the deputies assigned to night shift patrol.

Through the late-night hours and into the early morning, our deputies remain on the roads, answering calls, checking neighborhoods, assisting motorists, and working to keep the people of Grayson County safe.

We are thankful for the men and women who serve at all hours and our community who support them.

Protecting children takes all of us working together.

Last week, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office joined our federal, state, and local law enforcement partners in announcing the results of Operation Soteria Shield 2026, a large-scale Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) operation coordinated across North Texas.

Captain Jeremy Cox represented the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office at a press conference hosted by the Dallas Police Department and the FBI - Dallas, where participating agencies highlighted cases investigated during the operation.

One of those investigations began with a response to a runaway report by Deputy Julie Oden and ultimately led to the arrest of 18-year-old Jayden Michael Ryan Atkins of Oklahoma who was charged with Sexual Assault of a Child. The case was investigated by members of the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office ICAC Task Force, including Investigator Eric Gann, Investigator Jimmy Leverett, and Investigator Kasey Compton.

We are proud of the work our deputies and investigators do every day to protect children and hold offenders accountable. We also thank our many law enforcement partners who continue to work alongside us in the fight against child exploitation.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to stay engaged in their children’s online activities and report suspicious behavior to law enforcement.

The temperatures are rising, the boats are coming out, and families across Grayson County will soon be spending more time on our lakes enjoying everything summer has to offer.

We want you to have a great time making memories with family and friends, but we’d prefer your summer plans not include spending time with the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office.

Before heading to the lake, remember a few simple safety tips:

• Never operate a boat while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
• Always wear a life jacket and make sure children are properly fitted with one.
• Designate a sober operator for your boat, just like you would for a vehicle.
• Stay aware of changing weather conditions.
• Watch your speed and be mindful of swimmers, docks, and other boaters.
• Make sure your boat has the required safety equipment onboard.

Have fun. Be responsible. Wear your life jacket. And let’s keep your summer memories positive.

Today, members of the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office participated in a press conference hosted by the Dallas Police Department regarding a recent Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) operation coordinated through the Dallas Police Department ICAC Task Force and the FBI.

This operation brought together numerous federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies with a common mission: protecting children from those who seek to exploit, abuse, or victimize them online and in our communities.

The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to working alongside our law enforcement partners to identify offenders, rescue victims, and hold those who prey upon children accountable for their actions. Criminals do not recognize jurisdictional boundaries, and neither does our commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of our communities.

We are grateful for the leadership of the FBI, the Dallas Police Department ICAC Task Force, and the many agencies that contributed personnel, resources, and expertise to this operation.

Protecting children is not the responsibility of any one agency, it is a shared mission, and partnerships like these make our communities safer.

The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office is proud to work alongside the Whitewright Police Department and our other local, state, and federal law enforcement partners every day.

In the early morning hours of May 28, 2026, investigators and deputies from the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and Whitewright Police Department served a search warrant as part of a joint narcotics investigation. Operations like this demonstrate what can be accomplished when agencies share information, resources, and a common commitment to protecting our communities.

Public safety is strongest when law enforcement agencies work together rather than separately. Whether responding to emergencies, investigating crimes, combating narcotics trafficking, or supporting one another during critical incidents, partnerships between agencies help create a safer Grayson County for everyone who lives, works, and visits here.

We appreciate the professionalism and teamwork of Chief Elijah Fite and the Whitewright Police Department and look forward to continuing our collaborative efforts to serve the citizens of Grayson County.
