SOVFC Volunteers gathered for weekly training tonight to review rural water movement, drafting and handlines but as soon as training started crews were dispatched to Route 924 near Eagle Rock for a motor vehicle accident. The Engine, Tanker and Squad all took in the run before returning to the training and getting a few reps in.

Congratulations to Junior Firefighters Dante Singley and Jason Rentschler on successfully completing Module 4 of Essentials this weekend, including their live structure burn.

This achievement marks the completion of their basic firefighting training and prepares them to become interior firefighters upon reaching the age of 18. We are proud of the hard work both of these young men have shown throughout their training journey.

Over the last week, SOVFC Volunteers responded to over a dozen incidents ranging from weather related incidents, medical emergencies, structural fires, vehicle accidents and more. Aside from the incidents, volunteers also committed a significant amount of time to training participating at our weekly Monday night training and again with vehicle rescue training Saturday morning.
