The need to control our environment is rooted in a fear of uncertainty. This tendency is exacerbated when we experience feelings of anxiety or hold ourselves to unrealistically high standards. Why? Because it is our brain's effort to create a sense of security and predictability.

A persistent need to control every situation can negatively impact our mental health and relationships with others. In addition, it can keep us in a constant state of stress, releasing cortisol and impacting our overall health.

For this reason, it is helpful to identify what things are in your control and allow yourself to let go of what you cannot control. Be intentional about your mindset and how you choose to spend your energy.

Take care of your mind and body. Love, Nawal β™₯️
