One common misconception about foster care is that foster parents are there to “replace” a child’s parents.

In many cases, the goal of foster care is reunification—helping children safely return to their families when possible.

Foster parents can support this process by:
🤝 Respecting a child’s connection to their family
📅 Supporting family visits
💬 Speaking positively and appropriately about parents
❤️ Helping children maintain important relationships

Supporting a child also means supporting the people and relationships that matter to them.

We have some good news to share! Chosen has received a grant from the Green Bay Packers Foundation to support our Family Closet programs..

Through our Family Closet in Waukesha and our Mobile Family Closet, Chosen provides free clothing and essential items to foster, kinship, and adoptive families, helping ease the cost of caring for the children they welcome into their homes. We’re grateful for the Green Bay Packers Foundation’s continued support of this work and the families we serve.
