The Shawnee Hospital Authority and the Pottawatomie County Hospital Authority created REACT Ambulance Authority to serve the same areas as EMPACT EMS and RESPOND EMS. The creating authorities initially agreed to provide financial support to REACT EMS. Revenues are returned to replace and improve equipment and enhance the training capabilities of Paramedics and EMTs. No individuals own or profit fr

๐Ÿš‘๐ŸšจREACT EMS extends its sincere gratitude to Gordon Cooper Tech and Mrs. Ketchum's talented graphic design class for their help creating our new logo, specifically designed to commemorate our 30th anniversary. We were incredibly impressed by the creativity and skill demonstrated in the four exceptional submissions we received from Delilah Campbell, Brody Williams, Polly Stone, and Yulisa Jimenez. Selecting the winning designs was truly challenging, as all entries were outstanding, and we ultimately chose two fantastic designs to move forward with. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in this project! ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿš‘

Good morning, everyone!

Today is a very special day for all of us at REACT EMS. Today marks the 30th anniversary of REACT EMS in Pottawatomie County!
On March 17, 1996, the Shawnee Hospital Authority and the Pottawatomie County Hospital Authority partnered together to form the REACT Ambulance Authority. This was a joining of the 2 previous ambulance services in Pottawatomie County, EMPACT and RESPOND. This union would change the face of emergency medical care in our county for decades to come. The creating authorities agreed to financially support REACT until it could support itself. This was short-lived as REACT has been completely self-supporting since July 1996. REACT can sustain 24-hour daily operations without any cost to the cities and communities in our service area.
Here are a just few statistics:
1. In 1996, REACT ran 4,305 calls for service with 27 employees. This was done with 3 24-hour units.
2. In 2025, REACT ran 12,857 calls for service with 84 employees. This was done with 5 24-hour units and 1 12-hour unit.
3. REACT responds to all calls for service in Pottawatomie County and a small area in southern Lincoln County. In all, REACT serves approximately 890 square miles and serves over 85,000 residents of the 2 counties.
4. Cities in our response area include Shawnee, Tecumseh, McLoud, Dale, Meeker, Bethel Acres, Pink, Earlsboro, Brookesville, Maud, Tribbey, St. Louis, Pearson, Wannette, and Asher.
5. Since 1996, REACT has responded to over 282,710 calls for service and transported 218,786 patients.
6. In the last 10 years the REACT EMS fleet has traveled approximately 4,742,121 miles.

REACT EMS takes great pride in providing top-quality emergency medical care to our community with continuous training and the most up-to-date equipment available but, most of all, it is the dedication of our employees that has made REACT so successful.
We look forward to another 30 years as YOUR emergency medical service!

๐Ÿฅถ๐Ÿฅถโ„๏ธโ„๏ธAs you all know, there is a significant winter storm coming to Oklahoma this weekend.
We at REACT EMS would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to be as prepared as you possibly can be for the precipitation and bitter cold temperatures that we will be experiencing in the next week.
Every year, there are many injuries reported due to ice and snow. A large majority of these are caused by falls on the ice and traffic accidents. Our number one advice is to stay home and inside, where it is safe and warm. Nothing is more important than your health.
As always, our staff will be working diligently to make sure everyone is safe and sound during this crazy time. We truly appreciate their sacrifice and time away from their families to serve our community. ๐Ÿฅถ๐Ÿฅถโ„๏ธโ„๏ธ

A big congratulations to Paramedic Mason Meadows for winning the REACT "Disguise a Turkey" contest that was held in the month of November to celebrate Thanksgiving.
As you may, or may not, know, the holiday season brings a lot of stress for everyone. This is especially true for EMS and other first responders. We felt that this contest would be a great way to have some fun with the holidays and relieve some of the related stress. There were several great entries and we want to thank everyone who disguised a turkey!
We hope that everyone has a great, and safe, holiday season!
