Today was the 2nd annual SPOA/Shafter PD shop with a cop event. The event took place at the Wasco Walmart where Officers shopped with kids from the Shafter community. Thank you to the Wasco Walmart who donated 25$ per kid. SPOA donated 220$ per kid and all the Officers who participated pitched in their own money as well to assist with making the kids Christmas season one to remember. It was a great event and thank you to the Officers and administration as well as Chief Milligan who also assisted in this event. thank you to members of the community who saw us and took time to ask and talk about the event. The selected kids were able to wrap gifts for their families and enjoy pizza with officers after shopping.

SPOA donated 100$ per kid and all the Officers who participated pitched in their own money as well to assist with making the kids Christmas season one to remember. It was a great event and thank you to the Officers and administration as well as Chief Milligan who also assisted in this event. thank you to members of the community who saw us and donated to kids and Avila’s Barbershop who donated a haircut to one of the kids. We look forward to more community related events in the future.

Detective Kinkade has been training for this years Battle of the Badges. This will be his 1st Battle of the Badges and he will be representing Shafter PD. The Battle of the Badges boxing event is scheduled for this Friday.

Officer King has been putting in work preparing for this years Battle of the Badges. This will be Officer King’s 4th Battle of the Badges and his first year fighting for Shafter PD!

Another life taken too soon. Deputy Darnell Calhoun was shot and killed in the line of duty while serving the community of Lake Elsinore. Our prayers go out to the family and loved ones of Deputy Calhoun, and to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department as they mourn the loss of another deputy within 15 days.

Deputy Calhoun, may you rest in peace.

Our prayers go out to Riverside County Deputy Isaiah Cordero’s family and loved ones. Deputy Cordero was killed in the line of duty on 12/29/22. Thank you for your dedicated service sir. Rest easy.
