Monday, September 14, 2026 through Wednesday, September 16, 2026

Beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026, and continuing until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, the intersection of E. 17th Street at S. Lamine Avenue will be closed to through traffic. Heavy equipment and workers will be in the area working on a stormwater improvement project. Residents needing access to their driveways will need to coordinate with staff on site. Travelers in the area are advised to find an alternate route to their destination. This work is weather dependent and inclement weather may result in the work being rescheduled to a later date.

Missouri Department of Conservation Spraying Lotus Plant via Airplane

Springfork Lake will be temporarily closed to the public beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, through 6:00 a.m. Friday, September 25, 2026. The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will be conducting an aerial treatment of the lotus plant at Springfork Lake on Wednesday, September 23, and Thursday, September 24. The closure is necessary to allow MDC to safely spray the treatment chemicals from an airplane and to keep the public away from the lake during the application.

Several years ago, the City of Sedalia discontinued the use of Springfork Lake as a source of public drinking water. Therefore, the lotus plant and the upcoming treatment do not present a hazard to the community's drinking water supply.

We apologize for any inconvenience the closure of Springfork Lake may cause. However, the temporary closure is necessary to provide a safe area for the aerial application of the treatment chemicals and to protect the public and environment during the process.

Beginning on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, and continuing through Thursday, September 10, 2026, Macro Paving will be conducted on E. Pettis Street from N. Ohio Avenue to N. Mill Street. The roadway will be closed daily from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Residents living along this roadway will need to coordinate with City Crews on site concerning access to their driveways. Beginning on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, and continuing through Thursday, September 10, 2026, the City of Sedalia's Public Works Operations Division will be milling and overlaying E. 16th Street from S. Arlington Avenue to S. Marshall Avenue. During this period, road construction will result in the roadway being restricted to one lane of traffic. Residents living along this roadway will need to coordinate with City Crews on site should they need access to their driveways. Mill and overlay work will begin each day at 6:00 a.m. and continue through 4:00 p.m. Heavy equipment and workers will be present in the roadway during this period. Inclement weather or equipment breakdowns could delay completion.
