I was asked this today & quite frankly, I actually don’t wear socks any more, but I did a lot as a kid. I typically just kept a 3 and a 5 ply on me at all times and swapped out as needed throughout the day. I’d wait until my leg would get loose and spin around haha so I’d add a sock 😅 not the best method 😝

How do you know when it is time to add a sock?
Is there something in particular that use as a guideline other than "if it feels loose"?

I’ve never been very good at accepting “you can’t do that.”
Growing up, my dad and I spent a lot of time in the garage figuring out how to make things work.
There weren’t activity-specific prosthetic legs, so we made our own adaptations and somehow got me skiing, riding horses, and doing things people didn’t expect me to do.
Now I’m doing the same thing with mountain biking.
Different garage. Different partner in crime. Same mindset.
Sometimes adaptive riding isn’t about having the perfect setup. It’s about being willing to tinker, adapt, crash, adjust, and try again.
That’s mountain biking. And honestly, that’s been my life. 🦿

Walking on Salt!
Walking on different surfaces is always a challenge.
I trip on the non-obstructed smooth surfaces so add some crunchy uneven salt and man was that tough!
Very cool experience though and I highly recommend!!

the best text ever 🥹
my nieces ask if they can take my leg off and put it back on. They love that it is sparkly. They paint my “plastic” toes all different colors. When they see someone with a disability they see a friend.
