The year was 1982. At the time, two manufacturing companies made the decision to hire Braley-Gray & Associates as their representative in the Oregon market – Jay R. Smith Manufacturing and Acorn Engineering. JR Smith and Acorn have long been tied at the hip with the Smith and Morris families having close ties both inside and outside the business. These families made the relationship more formal with a business alliance in 2010, bringing the companies under one jointly owned company, eventually re-named Morris Group International.
Braley-Gray also went through a consolidation of its own, bringing the Vancouver/Boise offices under the same corporate company with Seattle, now called Braley-Gray LLC.
Through these changes and significant growth in product offerings and personnel, both companies have thrived in their respective businesses. We at Braley-Gray are proud to represent the Morris Group International family of companies – Acorn Engineering, JR Smith, Chronomite, Elmdor, Murdock, Whitehall, Controls, Safety Mfg., Neo-Metro, Acorn-Vac, Potter-Roemer, and Fluid Controls. We appreciate the partnership the MGI team brings and look forward to future product announcements and success. A special Thank You to Jim Delre – Senior VP Morris Group International, Stephanie Miner – VP Acorn Engineering, Huy Tran – Regional Manager Chronomite, Craig Johnson – National Sales Manager Acorn/Vac, and Rodney Weeks – Regional Manager Acorn/Vac, for making the trip to Bellevue during the ASPE Symposium to present us with the “Lion” award for 40 years of service. Morris Group International is in a class by itself when it comes to privately held manufacturing in the commercial and institutional plumbing markets.
