Nebraska State O-MOK-See is coming to the Historic Saddle Club, lead by Joey Hamilton. The flyer is attached and the event is set for 12 & 13 September. Joey is planning on three barrel racing jackots leading up to this event. **Dates for the Barrel races are Friday 19 June, Sunday 19 July and Friday 14 August and closing out with the Open Barrel race Friday 11 Sep prior to the O-MOK-See event. Ranch Sorts 6 & 7 June and 26 & 27 September, Sort Clinics are set for 5 June and 25 September.

A series of cattle handling and Ranch Horse clinics lead by Former Chadron State Rodeo Coach, PRCA Ba****ck Rider, Working Cowhorse/Cutter Trainer and Rancher Mr Dusten Looper along with one of our local ranchers Ms Paula Brown will be held in May, dates are getting finalized. The series will culminate in a weekend clinic, cowboy church and fun competition.

The Scotts Bluff County Fair Horse Show is Saturday 25 July! Our 4-Hers have already had their first meeting. The next meeting is 26 Feb at the 4-H Extension Building at 7pm. This meeting is focused as much on the parents as the young and budding riders.

We are excited for the 2026 Year of the Horse and to kick things off we will be holding our annual General Membership Meeting in conjunction with a Morning Clean Up session and our annual Egg Scramble in the afternoon of April 18th!

Clean Up, April 18th starting at 0800 bring hammers, rakes, shovels and a good attitude. The focus will be fence line clean up, open stall repairs and cleaning our the tree row.

The General Meeting April 18th and lunch for the workers will start at noon!

The Egg Scramble April 18th (bring your horses cause that is the point) will start after lunch closer to 1330 (130pm)

Some of our other dates are being worked. As we get more information, flyers will be sent to the members and posted on Facebook.

Your board is working hard to bring a great year of fun events and helpful clinics for you and your horse. The Historic Saddle Club Youth Ambassador Saddle program is already looking for your nomination.
