What an incredible result, TeamJLO. I’m so grateful to our volunteers, our neighbors, our small businesses, our partners, and our supporters for their support.

Despite more than $5 million spent against us by the insurance industry, anti-affordable housing special interests, the oil industry, AI corporations, and MAGA billionaires, we are advancing to the November General Election.

They spent millions trying to drown out our message. But they can’t buy our community.

Thank you for rejecting my opponent’s attacks, the vicious misinformation they intentionally spread, and the politics of fear.

This campaign has always been about the future of working people in California. Work powered by people, not corporations. Because California belongs to all of us.

We’re fighting for an affordable California where working families can build a future, and this November, we’re taking that fight directly to the status quo.

Join us. Donate. Volunteer. Share our message. Help us fight for an affordable California. 🔥

Let’s win this together and build a future we can believe in.

Onward to November.

After 17 months of conversations, organizing, and campaigning, Election Day is finally here.

Today is about our future and the California we want to build together: one that is affordable, invests in public education, expands access to health care, protects working families, and creates opportunity for everyone.

If you haven’t voted yet, there’s still time. Submit your ballot before 8 PM.

Thank you to every volunteer, supporter, donor, and voter who made this campaign possible. Let’s finish strong. 🗳️

What a month! 🎉

In May, we unveiled a memorial honoring Santa Ana’s historic Chinatown, cheered on students chasing their dreams, and joined neighbors working to keep our city beautiful.

These moments remind me why I’m proud to call Santa Ana home.

Take a look at our May newsletter to see what our team has been up to and what’s ahead for Ward 3.

I had the opportunity to attend our local graduations again this year, and it was truly inspiring. Seeing former student interns graduate, along with young people I’ve had the privilege to mentor over the years, has been incredibly rewarding. Watching them grow, achieve this milestone, and move forward with plans and dreams for their future fills me with so much pride.

I’m proud of each and every one of them, and I’m deeply grateful to the families who continue to work hard, make sacrifices, and support their children every step of the way. Their success is a testament to their dedication, resilience, and the strong communities that help them thrive.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026. Your future is bright, and our community is stronger because of you. 🎓✨

Felicidades 💛

Only 5 days left until the June 2 Primary, and it’s all hands on deck. 🔥

This campaign was built by working people, neighbors, students, renters, parents, homeowners, and everyone fighting to stay in the California they love. And in these final days, we keep pushing forward together.

Join us as we knock doors, talk to voters, and fight for a California that puts people before special interests. A California where families can afford housing, workers earn living wages, public schools are fully funded, and immigrant communities are protected.

Hope is action. Change only happens when people show up and refuse to give up on each other.

Help us fight for an affordable California and a future that belongs to working people.

On Saturday, May 23, we unveiled a memorial monument honoring Santa Ana’s historic Chinatown, recognizing both the immense contributions of the Chinese community to our city’s foundation and the painful injustice they endured. The ceremony took place nearly 120 years to the day after Chinatown was burned down on May 25, 1906.

Acknowledging this history matters. Not to divide us, but to ensure we learn from it and continue building a community rooted in dignity, respect, and belonging for everyone. At a time when divisive rhetoric tries to pull people apart, moments like this remind us that our communities have far more in common than what separates us.

In 2022, the Santa Ana City Council formally apologized to Chinese immigrants and their descendants for this and other acts of injustice. This monument stands not only as a remembrance of the past, but as a commitment to moving forward together.

This Memorial Day, we honored Marine Lance Corporal Jose Luis Elizarraras Jr., a Santa Ana native who served our country before tragically passing away during a training exercise 30 years ago. It was powerful to hear from his father, Jose Luis Elizarraras Sr., as we remembered his life and service.

Today’s ceremony was a reminder of the sacrifice so many families have made for our country. We honor the Americans who gave their lives in service by protecting our democracy, staying engaged in our communities, and continuing the fight for justice, freedom, and opportunity for all people.
