This weekend several members of Seminole Composite Squadron FL-116 had the opportunity to attend the Snake Creek training event, and it was packed with hands-on learning.

From helicopter landing operations, K9 search demonstrations, and map reading, to practical skills like knots and fire building, Snake Creek had it all. Events like this give our cadets and senior members the chance to build real-world skills, work as a team, and experience the mission side of Civil Air Patrol.

Thank you to everyone who helped organize the event and to the members who represented FL-116 this weekend. Experiences like this are what make CAP training so valuable.

Today members of Seminole Composite Squadron FL-116 spent the day in the field preparing for the upcoming NASA SkyWatch mission. Cadets and senior members worked together practicing observation techniques, equipment use, and mission procedures that will be used to support NASA during launch operations.

Training days like this are where the real learning happens. Cadets get hands-on experience, develop leadership skills, and work side-by-side with senior members while preparing for real-world missions.

We’re proud of the dedication these cadets continue to show as they prepare to support aerospace operations right here on Florida’s Space Coast.

✈️ Seminole Composite Squadron is out here at Aviation Day at the Sanford Airport Orlando Florida! ✈️

The squadron is currently set up at the Sanford Airport for Aviation Day and having a great time connecting with the community. Cadets and senior members are sharing what Civil Air Patrol is all about—aviation, aerospace education, emergency services, and leadership.

Lots of great conversations, amazing aircraft, and a fantastic atmosphere out here today. If you’re at the airport, come stop by our display, ask questions, and say hello—we’d love to meet you! 🇺🇸✈️

This week, the squadron had an awesome visit from the Seminole County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit!

Cadets got to simulate a missing person search and see firsthand how K-9 teams operate in real-world scenarios. An incredible experience that brought emergency services and teamwork to life.

Thank you to the deputies and K-9s for taking the time to train and inspire our cadets!

The squadron got its first look at the new display booth during last night’s meeting, and we’re excited to debut it to the community soon officially!
