QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer.

Question: QPR emphasizes the importance of directly asking someone about their thoughts of su***de. This can be a difficult step, but QPR Institute says that it is crucial to understand their situation.
Persuade: QPR teaches how to actively persuade someone to accept help. This involves listening to their feelings, expressing compassion, and offering hope that things can get better.
Refer: QPR provides guidance on where to refer someone for help. This might include connecting them with a therapist, crisis hotline, or other relevant resources.

A little holiday cheer and warmth. 100 colorful Winter Care bags will soon be distributed to unsheltered citizens living in camps across Seminole County. Each reflective drawstring bag contains matching hats and gloves, a pair of socks and a variety of self-care and miscellaneous items. Included are Mylar blankets and rain ponchos, notepad, pen, chapstick, toothbrush, toothpaste, washcloth, body wash, lotion...and a little chocolate. A special thanks to a private donor, Patti Parker, SACSON Chair and Raymond Luther, Outreach Service Coordinator for Step Up on Second.

SACSON Receives Hat and Sock Donation. A special thank you to the staff and friends of Pools by Bradley for their heartfelt donations for the March 12th Veterans Stand Down event to benefit Seminole County homeless veterans.

SACSON originally requested 100 pairs of socks last month, but when staff members Wendy Laughrey and Lynn Coffin got wind of the project, they and their posse immediately got to work knitting and crocheting hats. 51 beautiful hand-made hats in four weeks! In addition to Wendy and Lynn, we'd also like to thank Lynn's mother, Louise D’Agostino and friend, Edith; and Lynn’s
mother-in-law, Stevi Coffin. And, thank you to Megan and Bradley Eaves, Pools by Bradley and Ms. Darlene Schlerf in Ukiah, Calif., for their generous donation of 200 pairs of socks.
