A patch of Scotch Broom in the Seattle area...The site is about 10 acres and the infestation is a solid monoculture. This is a mature stand, as you can see it is around 6' tall and taller. We are aggressive in our pursuit of Scotch Broom eradication in Bonner County, as we do not want the environmental and fiscal devastation that comes with fully established Brooms.

The U.S. Army Corp or Engineers - Engineering & Research Development was in Bonner County (Lake Pend Oreille) recently to continue a study on diquat effectiveness on Flowering Rush, as well as take part in a trial plot for a brand new herbicide on Eurasian Watermilfoil. Photos demonstrate pulling water samples to check for herbicide dissipation over time, and vegetation cover assessments. Partners included USDA-ARS, University of North Carolina, Coldwater Environmental, ISDA and Bonner County Noxious Weeds.
