15 minutes of Fire from The Chief
Notice to the public, The Puerco Valley Fire and EMS District is not shut down.
We had a staffing issue over the weekend and had to reach out to our mutual aid partners St. John’s fire, and Navajo nation EMS they are temporarily covering our district under a standard mutually agreement that has been in place for years.
We are not closing the doors or shutting down as of yet we are still trying to work closely with the Navajo nation governance to sign an IGA for a contract for Services and also looking at restructuring a payment to the Apache County Treasures Office to regain some of our tax levy.
I want to assure the people of Sanders that the Puerco Valley Fire and EMS District is not closing down please do not buy into rumors that you hear on Facebook. I will let everyone know if the efforts with the Navajo nation governance, and the Apache County Treasures Office fail and we do have to shut down. I will put out a public statement from the Chief. Anyone else you hear this from does not know what they are talking about.
Again, I thank you, Facebook fans, and community members for following us closely in this detrimental time that we are going through. We love the people of Sanders surrounding area and those areas of the Navajo nation that we cover and you will always be our first concern.
Thank you this message is from the Fire Chief directly anyone else is just gossip.
