🐾 Help feed a beloved companion!

We’re grateful to the Marin Society of Artists for generously hosting a pet food drive benefiting Vivalon’s Nourish for Pets program during their Colorful Expressions exhibition, September 2–26.

Nourish for Pets grew from something our Meals on Wheels team noticed firsthand: some homebound clients were sharing their own meals with their pets. Today, the program helps older adults and people with disabilities care for the animals who provide so much companionship, comfort, and joy.

Stop by the gallery and help fill the donation barrels with canned pet food (no kibble) or pet supplies such as collars, leashes, and toys.

🎨 While you’re there, enjoy Colorful Expressions, featuring work by Marin Society of Artists members alongside artwork by several talented Vivalon members.

Join us for the reception on Friday, September 11, from 5–8 p.m. at the MSA Gallery, 1515 Third St.

A Vivalon night at the ballpark! ⚾️🧡

We had a wonderful time cheering on the and seeing Vivalon featured in the Community Spotlight at Oracle Park! It was a special opportunity to share our mission with Giants fans and celebrate the community that makes our work possible.

This September, Vivalon is bringing Marin County together for Falls Prevention Awareness Week, September 22-25: a week of free programs, expert conversations, classes and resources to help older adults stay strong, steady and independent.

Learn from local experts about what’s causing falls in Marin County and what we can do about it. Try fall-prevention classes, learn how to safely recover after a fall, get a fall risk assessment, explore new technology and hear from medical professionals, first responders and physical therapists.

There’s something for everyone, whether you’re an older adult looking to stay active and independent, a caregiver supporting someone you love, or simply interested in healthy aging.

Our members have been enjoying unforgettable outdoor outings with naturalist Susan.

Recent trips have taken participants to China Camp State Park and Samuel P. Taylor State Park. Participants say having this opportunity is truly a gift, and Susan’s knowledge and passion as a naturalist make each trip even more meaningful.

Today’s adventure included two incredible participants—ages 97 and 94! And we’re excited that our next outing will welcome a participant who uses a wheelchair, continuing our commitment to making these experiences accessible and inclusive for everyone.

Today we're celebrating an incredible milestone with a truly special member of the Vivalon community. Anna has been attending Vivalon since the 1980s and is our longest-active member!

Community Champions Week continued with Marin County Supervisors Eric Lucan and Mary Sackett, along with San Rafael Councilmember Rachel Kertz and Novato Councilmember Pat Eklund, joining Vivalon staff and volunteers on meal delivery routes across Marin.

Through conversations with recipients and firsthand participation in deliveries, they experienced how nutrition services help older adults and people with disabilities remain healthy, independent, and connected to their community.

Thank you to these community leaders for taking the time to learn more about the impact of home-delivered nutrition services and the growing need for support throughout Marin.
