Last night's dinner was a delicious Sweet & Sour Chicken with vegetables, pears, and fresh-baked carrot bread. 🍴 🍐 🥕 🐔

A huge thank you to our incredible kitchen team and volunteers who made this meal possible. The care, time, and effort that goes into preparing nutritious meals for our unsheltered neighbors never goes unnoticed.

While we don't post about it nearly as often as we should, this is just a small glimpse of what happens behind the scenes at Sonoma County Acts of Kindness. Seven days a week, our volunteers deliver meals directly to our unsheltered community, meeting then where they are. Two of those days are hot meals and six days, sack meals and snacks..

In addition to meal delivery, one day each week our volunteers distribute essential supplies, resources, and other necessities while continuing to provide compassionate support and advocacy for those we serve.

Every meal delivered, every supply distributed, and every act of kindness is made possible by volunteers who generously give their time, energy, and hearts to help others.

Thank you to our amazing volunteers for making this work possible every single day. Because of your kindness, compassion, and service, lives are touched and hope is shared throughout our community. ❤️

💛 HAPPY VOLUNTEER WEEK 💛

This week, we’re honoring the heart and soul behind everything we do—our volunteers.

With over 45 volunteers, this work is only possible because of you. Every meal served, every supply distributed, every act of kindness shared—it all starts with your dedication.

From those out on the streets delivering meals and supplies directly to our unsheltered neighbors, to those working quietly behind the scenes… this work simply would not exist without you.

It’s the afternoons spent in the kitchen.
The at-home meal makers preparing food with care.
The late nights organizing donations.
The driving, the lifting, the sorting, the planning.

It’s the volunteers packing supplies and showing up with compassion.
The ones coordinating food, stocking storage, and making sure we have what’s needed, when it’s needed.
The ones writing grants, managing finances, creating flyers, maintaining the website, and keeping everything moving forward day after day.

It’s the organizers.
The planners.
The problem-solvers.
The ones who step in wherever they’re needed—
and the ones who show up again and again.

This is what community looks like.
This is what compassion in action looks like.

Because of you, our unsheltered neighbors are met with dignity, consistency, and care—every single day.

To each and every one of you:
Thank you for your time.
Thank you for your heart.
Thank you for showing up with love.

We are endlessly grateful. 💛

💛 UPDATE – THANK YOU FOR MAKING AN INCREDIBLE IMPACT 💛

Because of the incredible generosity of this community, our matching campaign continued to grow even after it ended. We received additional checks postmarked during the campaign, a generous $1,000 grant from The Russian River Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, an additional contribution from the Center for Spiritual Living, and an additional donation from Gregory.

Thanks to this continued support, we raised $3,754 from the community, and our final total has been updated in a big way. Strategic Solutions Inc. honored the full $5,000 match—bringing the total impact of this campaign to $8,745 for our unsheltered neighbors.

We are beyond grateful to every single person who donated, mailed in support, shared our posts, and helped spread the word. This outcome was only possible because of this community showing up with compassion and love.

🙏 Thank you for showing what is possible when a community comes together.

Together, we are making a real difference. 💛
