SJC Youth Advisory Board

YAB meets at 5:30 pm on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month in the Community Center Conference Room All applicants must be residents of San Juan Capistrano.

The Youth Advisory Board consists of a maximum of (20) youth members and a minimum of nine (9) youth members; and at least (3) adult a

dvisory members. Members are selected on the basis of their knowledge, leadership skills and involvement in charitable youth activities. The geographic areas of the City where the applicant resides and the school that the applicant attends shall also be considered in the selection process for Board membership. The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) primary functions are to develop youth leadership and promote charitable service to the community, providing community service opportunities to local youth. The Board serves as a liaison between the city’s youth and the City Council, lobbying for youth interests, and identifying issues pertaining to youth, communicating the concerns of the youth, and suggesting action items for the Council agenda, proposing youth-related ordinances, city programs, activities, and fund-raising events. 🪅 The San Juan Capistrano Youth Advisory Board presents an upcoming Hispanic event called the 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮 𝗢𝗳 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲

🎉 Come celebrate with us and enjoy the rich cultures, food, music, and dance of Hispanic Heritage!

Details about the event:
🕜 Hosted on October 17 of 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

📍Location will be hosted at the Los Rios Park of San Juan Capistrano 31790 Paseo Adelanto.

🥳 Expect fun and diverting activities such as Live Music, Dances, Colorful Decorations, Kid Friendly Zones, and Delicious Food and Beverages from Hispanic Culture!

👥 Event will be FREE TO ALL REGARDLESS OF AGE!

🔆 On July 15th, 2026, The San Juan Capistrano Youth Advisory Board participated in the July Summer Nights Concert at San Juan Capistrano.

🎨 Throughout the Summer Nights Concert at San Juan Capistrano, the Youth Advisory Board offered free face-painting and free button-making to the participating public at the Summer Nights Concert.

🤳All of the YAB members who attended the July Summer Nights Concert had a spectacular time and captured photos to showcase their experience!

🌅 The San Juan Capistrano Youth Advisory Board enjoyed being able to participate in the Summers Nights Concert. The Youth Advisory Board looks forward to participating in the Summer Nights Concert happening in August.

☀️ On June 17th, 2026, The San Juan Capistrano Youth Advisory Board participated in the June Summer Nights Concert at San Juan Capistrano.

🫟 Throughout the Summer Nights Concert at San Juan Capistrano, the YAB members offered free face painting and free button making to the participating public at the Summer Nights Concert.

📸 All of the YAB members who attended the June Summer Nights Concert had a wonderful time and some of them even took photos to document their experience!

🌊 The San Juan Capistrano Youth Advisory Board looks forward to participating in the next Summer Nights Concert happening in July!

June 8th, 2026 marks the last day of our YAB members of the class of 2026. These YAB members have contributed a lot to the success of the Advisory Board. We will forever be grateful to have had these YAB members be a part of our journey. To show our gratitude to these wonderful members, they have been awarded an award for their outstanding participation. May the YAB members of the class of 2026 have a bright and successful future!
