Last Friday’s CCO Culture Club was such a special experience! We are so grateful to our friends for sharing their vibrant culture with us. A huge thank you to Pamela and Veronica for their wonderful presentation! We learned so much about Chile, Easter Island, the traditional Cueca dance, and the delicious food that makes Chilean culture so unique. It was a beautiful, engaging, and meaningful cultural experience, and we truly appreciate the time, energy, and care you both put into sharing it with us. The students absolutely loved the presentation, the hands-on project they got to create, and of course the Chilean hot dogs were a huge hit! 🌭🇨🇱💃 Thank you again for making Culture Club such a fun and memorable experience for everyone.

Today was Dutch Culture Club at CCO! We learned about the people of the Netherlands and how they are often very tall, organized, direct communicators, spirited soccer fans, and how they love riding bikes. We also learned that the color orange is very important in Dutch culture! We explored Dutch holidays and food, listened to music, played games, and even learned some Dutch words. Thank you, Ms. Meike, for all the treats you brought and for teaching us so much about the Netherlands! 🇳🇱🧡⚽

There’s something special about gathering in the kitchen. These men truly know their way around the kitchen and work together like family preparing meals, baking desserts, and sharing family-style dinners around the table. From chopping and cooking to baking and cleaning up, everyone plays a part. The kitchen has become more than a place to make food…it’s a place where life skills, teamwork, confidence, and connection grow every day. We love seeing the pride they take in creating meals together and making memories along the way.

Nothing beats fresh salsa made from ingredients you’ve grown yourself. Two of our homes have started an office garden and we are excited for the crops to come in tomatoes 🍅 , cilantro 🌱 and jalapeño peppers 🌶️ ! The goal? Homemade salsa someday soon
This is more than just gardening, this project is teaching patience, teamwork, responsibility, and the joy of caring for something from seed to harvest. We love seeing the skills, confidence, and pride growing right alongside the plants. 💚

Today’s CCO Culture Club was such a meaningful experience as we learned more about the Philippines and its beautiful culture. From the language, parades, celebrations, religion, landmarks, traditional clothing, and of course the delicious food — every part of today’s presentation was engaging and inspiring. 🇵🇭 A special thank you to our nurses, EFTs, and FTCs for sharing their personal stories, videos, photos, and cultural items with us. Your openness and pride in your heritage helped create such a warm and welcoming experience for everyone. We are grateful for opportunities like this that bring our community together, celebrate diversity, and help us learn from one another. What a wonderful event! ❤️

As Teacher Appreciation Week comes to a close, we’re reflecting on the moments that matter — the everyday encouragement, teaching, flexibility, and care our teachers bring to each journey they walk alongside our individuals. Today ended with a thoughtful gift: a utility tote for the car — perfect for supplies, grocery runs, picnics, or whatever the day calls for. More than just a tote, we hope it serves as a reminder of the journeys we share, the moments experienced along the way, and the sunshine each teacher brings into the lives of those they support. Whether the road is smooth or filled with challenges, we are deeply thankful for the impact our teachers make and for their commitment to sticking with us through every step of the journey. 💛

Today, our amazing CCO teachers received a mini charcuterie snack box — a small treat to help recharge and power through a busy day. Our teachers give so much of themselves every single day through their incredible work. We hope today’s snack boxes brought them a moment to pause, refuel, and feel appreciated for all they do for the men and women of CCO. We THANK each teacher for their strong teaching, quality care, and warm family support they provide each and every day.

Today we celebrated our CCO teachers with a custom burger bar, fries, cookies and a small gift — a puzzle piece stress squishy — as a reminder of the many meaningful moments of connections our teachers help create every single day. From the people we support, to their families, to the community, and throughout CCO administration and staff, our teachers are an essential piece of the bigger picture. Your patience, creativity, encouragement, and dedication make a lasting impact in countless moments both big and small. Thank you for all you do to build relationships, foster growth, and create connection every day. We appreciate you!
