Someone has sent me a Message saying that magazineart.org has violated Meta's trademarks. Not sure how that can be, as there's nothing here later than 1955. The purported sender has an account with nothing posted since 2013, so I'm suspecting an elaborate phishing attempt. Looking back through the messages, it seems someone else sent the same message in January, but that person seems to have disappeared from FB since that time.

Has anyone ever seen seen this kind of thing?

We've just added some more cover images from the old LIFE, the Humor Magazine, to the magazineart site. Almost all of the second half of 1886 is now online, from covers we scanned and reworked in Photoshop. Tom Harris lent us the volume from his collection, and wow! thanks again, Tom!

1930
Ads by Newspapers seeking Advertisers

The January 1930 issue of the automobile industry trade magazine MOTOR ran 300 pages, most of them ads aimed at service stations, suppliers, and dealers. Twenty full-page ads were from newspapers looking for advertisers, anything from the car manufacturers to local service operators. The Depression had not yet taken hold, and hopes were high.

Here are a few in a variety of styles, some of them timeless, and some of them that shout 1920's. And that was nearly a century ago. All twenty at https://magazineart.org/piwigo/index.php?/category/691

We've just added five 1920-27 covers from ASIA, the American magazine about that continent and its people. Two of them are by Frank McIntosh, whose amazing run of covers for this title from the mid-1920s till the early 1930s set a style that has been rarely approached.
