π’ Important Updates for CalFresh & Medi-Cal Recipients in San Diego County π’
Federal and state policy changes rolling out over the next few months may affect some individuals and families receiving CalFresh or Medi-Cal benefits.
Keeping your information current will help ensure you receive text messages, calls, and mail from the County about any steps needed to confirm your eligibility. βοΈπ
ποΈ Key Dates & Changes:
πΉ April 1, 2026
Certain lawfully present noncitizens may no longer qualify for CalFresh benefits.
πΉ June 1, 2026
Some adult CalFresh recipients may need to work 80 hours per month or participate in training or volunteer activities to keep benefits. Certain exemptions may apply, including for parents or caregivers of children under 14 years old.
πΉ January 1, 2027
Some Medi-Cal recipients may also need to meet new work or community engagement requirements to maintain coverage.
