Our Mission
In order to achieve our vision, Amikas will work to:

Prevent women and children, especially veteran women, from being homeless. Create and provide housing options for homeless women and children. Influence society's perception, and public policies regarding homelessness.

Hey Ladies...all are invited to a Ladies Community Clothing Swap! 🥰 Bring clean gently worn clothes, accessories and shoes to swap item with other ladies at "The Swap". Bring a bag to put your new treasures in to take home. It's fun and bring biz cards if you'd like to network with others. All remaining items will be donated to Rachel's Women's Center to help unhoused women in San Diego County. April 16 - 1:00 pm.

The City of San Diego declared housing to be a human right. It sounds like new tenant protection laws are in the works. Will they let us build some emergency sleeping cabins to help with the housing shortage?

The San Diego city council unanimously declared housing as a human right on Monday, and discussed further tenant protections.

Led by Amikas, a group that helps women and children have a safe place to sleep at night, community volunteers helped build six cabins.
