⚓️NAVY CHIEF, NAVY PRIDE! ⚓️

On April 1, 2026 Team PRINCETON celebrated the 133rd birthday of the Chief Petty Officer Rank! Sailors gathered to celebrate the occasion with a review of the history of the Chief’s Mess, roles and responsibilities of a deckplate Chief, and a ceremony to all those who wear the Fouled Anchor.

We also had the opportunity to promote our Independent Duty Corpsman to Senior Chief! Congratulations HMCS Hanson!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRINCETON! 🎉🎉

On February 11 2026, the PRINCETON team came together to celebrate her 37 years of service to the Navy! CG-59 was commissioned on February 11, 1989 at Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula, Mississippi and has deployed to nearly every corner of the globe in the years since.

The ceremony included a brief history of the previous ships to bear the name Princeton, and remembered all of our shipmates who have walked and fought on these decks before us.

PRINCETON was underway last month in support of the Boxer Amphibious Readiness Group and 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, conducting integrated training involving air warfare, surface warfare, and naval surface fire support in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations. Integrated training enhances lethality and warfighting readiness, furthering PRINCETON’s preparedness to defend the United States.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNITED STATES NAVY!

On 10OCT2025, PRINCETON gathered to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Navy. The ceremony was opened with a reading of the history of the Navy’s founding and concluded with the ceremonial cutting of the cake by the ship’s oldest and youngest members, LT Kwon and LSSN Brown.

The U.S. Navy was founded on October 13, 1775, when the Second Continental Congress authorized the creation of the Continental Navy during the American Revolution. The Congress established a naval committee to oversee the purchase and management of armed ships to intercept British supplies. Although disbanded after the Revolutionary War, the U.S. Navy was re-established in 1794 and formally separated into its own executive department in 1798.

Here’s to 250 more, Happy Birthday Navy!
