Dear Neighbors, Friends and Supporters:

Earlier this afternoon I phoned Supervisor-elect Ray Mueller with well-wishes on his journey forward. I want to thank each and everyone of you for your donations of time, funding, encouragement and other support. Your generosity means more to me and my family than words can ever express.

It remains more critical than ever that women be fully represented at all levels of decision-making to make our unique experiences and voices heard. This journey was not about me, but about that objective. By elevating those perspectives and providing a different vision for our county, we met that objective.

There is so much more work to do, and we need to do it together. Today, I am proud of the campaign we ran, buoyed by Californians voting their values yesterday, and hopeful for the outcomes of cliffhanger races at the national level.

Please join me in taking pause today to reflect on our successes, the work ahead, and the optimism in our hearts as we rejuvenate and get back to this movement we all love. I look forward to continuing to serve my community.

It was great to see Jane Fonda at Manny's and learn about what inspired her to establish the Jane Fonda Climate PAC. I am grateful for the organization’s endorsement. As a local councilwoman and candidate for County Supervisor, I have made a pledge to refuse Big Oil contributions to my campaign. I have been a diligent leader in addressing climate change locally and my priorities include investing in wildfire prevention and reducing the devastating effects of drought and climate change.
