Duties:
*Participate in the RTI and referral processes.
*Facilitate completion of the Full and Individual Evaluations for referred students within compliance deadlines.
*Perform psychological services in assessment, behavior management, consultation, and counseling for students.
Qualifications
*Master’s/Specialist's degree in psychology from an accredited college or university
*Valid Texas license as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (Trainees accepted with valid Trainee Letter)
Special Knowledge/Skills
*Effective communication and interpersonal skills
*Knowledge of procedures for assessing academic achievement, cognitive abilities, and emotional and behavioral functioning for educational purposes
*Knowledge of academic and behavior prevention and intervention strategies
*Strong consultation skills for conferencing with teachers, parents, and students
*Knowledge of counseling theory and techniques
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
*Conduct Full and Individual Evaluations for referred students
*Provide counseling sessions and psychological services to students.
*Score and interpret test data Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and facilitate drafting and implementing behavior intervention plans.
*Participate in the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee to assist with appropriate placement and development of Individual Education Plans (IEP).
*Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality staff development opportunities for personal growth.
*Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.
*Demonstrate integrity and ethics.
*Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
*Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
*Manage and utilize data effectively for systemic process and program analysis.
*No case management, ARD scheduling, or IEP paperwork (other than counseling goals/progress monitoring) is completed by NISD LSSPs.
