Developing fire service leaders who make a real impact starts with investing in the people who shape our training programs.

We’re excited to host the MAD Training Officer Academy, a four‑day, academy‑style course designed for current and future Training Officers who want to build more effective, compliant, and readiness‑focused training programs.

Participants will learn to:

- Assess department training needs and define the Training Officer mission
- Design outcome‑based training
- Build evaluation tools that strengthen skill retention and consistency
- Apply standards, compliance, and readiness‑based program management
- Improve training culture across their organization

Modern fire departments need training officers who are better, faster, safer, and smarter — and this academy is built to develop exactly that.

Over the last two weeks, several of our JBSA Fire Department professionals crushed the Blue Card Train‑the‑Trainer and Blue Card ARFF Train‑the‑Trainer programs — an elite accomplishment that elevates our command capability across the entire installation. These members stepped up, put in the work, and are now fully certified to deliver top‑tier incident‑command training right here at JBSA.

And the momentum keeps building.

Our newly certified instructors are now preparing to stand up a JBSA Command Training Center, where they’ll run department personnel through advanced Blue Card simulations and conduct final evaluations. This center won’t just sharpen our internal command performance — it will also streamline mutual‑aid operations with our partner agencies who utilize the same Blue Card system, ensuring smoother, safer, and more coordinated responses during joint incidents.

This milestone strengthens our mission, our teamwork, and our ability to protect the JBSA community with excellence.

Great job Leaders!!! Job well done

Today we wrap up the Blue Card ARFF Train-the-Trainer at Joint Base San Antonio, Texas.

This week, leaders responsible for protecting our nation’s military infrastructure, aircraft operations, and personnel worked through Blue Card command principles specifically adapted for the ARFF environment. Through simulations, command performance, and strategic decision-making exercises, students strengthened the systems needed to manage high-risk, high-consequence incidents safely and effectively.

Interested in bringing Blue Card to your ARFF operation? Join us for the next Blue Card ARFF Instructor Class Aug. 25–27 at the Alan V. Brunacini Command Training Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Learn more here: https://bluecardtraining.com/events.aspx
