Folks, the threats to our privacy and freedom to travel are deafening at this point. There will be no escaping it if we don't engage. Burying your head in the sand wishing it ain't so, isn't going to cut it. My good friend Mollie Engelhart lays it out in her column in the Epoch Times this week.

As consumers, we MUST push back. Use our consumer 'capital' to demand non-spy cars. Manufacturers have spent millions developing this spyware, BIG tech is spending BILLIONS on data centers to build the infra to collect and utilize our telematic & biometric data, so they're GOING to put it in our cars even if the Biden kill switch monitoring mandate goes away. We need to make sure they'll LOSE billions on such a prospect like they did when they went all in on EVs. Second, we MUST vigilant in watchdogging congress and electing constitutionalist presidents to ensure they don't mandate any further spyware, exert further control over our freedom of movement in our cars or monitor our driving - under the guise of climate policy or otherwise.

At today's Senate State Affairs Committee hearing, we heard testimony on strengthening election security, ensuring poll watcher access, improving the efficiency of our election systems, and continuing Texas' efforts to protect women and unborn children from unlawful abortion pill trafficking. 🏛️

We also reviewed the implementation of Senate Bill 2337, legislation designed to bring greater transparency and accountability to proxy advisory firms, the influential companies that advise major investors and pension funds on how to vote their shares on important corporate matters that can affect the financial interests of Texans. 📈

Texans deserve elections that are secure, transparent, and efficient, and they deserve leaders who will stand firmly for life, safeguard taxpayers and investors, and uphold the rule of law. I appreciate everyone who took the time to testify and look forward to advancing recommendations that keep Texas strong and free.⚖️⭐

I’m struggling as I write this today. I’ve labored alongside Chip Roy from his first campaign through today (& will in the future, I’m convinced God isn’t going to bench Chip Roy!). He is the embodiment of everything we as Republicans, especially conservatives, say we want in an elected official. To keep his campaign promises, directly uphold and defend the constitution (& our rights therein), and fiercely fight for our principles, get policy wins, & refuse to bow to special
interests or cave to leadership if it’s the wrong thing to do.

Chip Roy has done all of the above with integrity, grit, & shrewdness. Staffers and his colleagues who have worked with him will tell you he’s a brilliant strategist and the brains behind most conservative wins in congress.

You will be sorely missed in congress and we lament you won’t be our next Texas Attorney General. I still believe you’re the best choice in this unique time when Texas needs you most.

Thank you for your sacrifices, your tireless efforts on our behalf, for never forgetting your constituents back home, for defending us when no one else would, and for being someone I consider a dear friend and warrior in the fight for FREEDOM. While I wish success to Mayes Middleton because Texas needs him to succeed, I lament losing our best and brightest in the most consequential battles of our time.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t also mention, the first communication I received on July 4th last year during the devastating flood that nearly destroyed our community and came very near to our home was from Chip. He immediately reached out to see if we were all okay. I will never forget that. It meant so much to me then, but even more to us now, in retrospect.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Chip. There aren’t words to express how deeply we appreciate you (Carah & the kids) and all you’ve done for us and the great state of Texas.

This isn’t good bye. Just the closing of a chapter. The book is still being written, and I hope you’ll come roaring back - because we need you! I’ll have your back! It’s been an honor.

In Dripping Springs last night on election eve (Early voting starts today, folks) with my favorite candidate for Attorney General Chip Roy. He fought hard to repeal the kill switch, reform FISA to stop govt spying without a warrant, & so much more!

Texas needs this tough, proven constitutional warrior as our next AG - to stop the Islamification of Texas, to secure our borders, put criminals behind bars, and protect Texans from bad corporate actors whether it’s data centers, BESS, or those seeking to sell/exploit our personal data. Early voting is M-F this week, Election Day - May 26. Go vote!
