I have been getting calls for baby possums today. Unfortunately, the calls are being put through to my number {an admin of the page} but I am in Wisconsin and experiencing the Ides of March Blizzard so don't think you want to bring those babies here in the Northwoods.

The owner of Southern Wildlife Rehab has gone through some tragic circumstances and is not currently taking in wildlife.

Klondike's new home at MoonShine Wildlife Rehabilitation.
He and a few other USDA educational animals from SWR were sent to the care and trust of Moonshine by me due to my husband passing away and a lot of other private issues. At this time I am not taking any rehabs or providing wildlife education programs.

Migration Alert! It's going to be massive this weekend, with an estimated 316 million to 400+ million migrating birds on the wing each night, according to BirdCast. Warmer colors on the map show where migration will be most intense. This should make for great birdwatching—and it's also a good time to turn off nonessential indoor and outdoor lights to avoid disorienting birds. Sadly, light pollution and unsafe windows contribute to the hundreds of millions of birds estimated to die in building collisions in the U.S. every year. As the state faces a prolonged heat event, residents may see rats, raccoons and other creatures coming out of their hiding spots, like attics and under buildings, warned an animal control organization.

Today, along with our partners, we notified the NPS and USFWS of our intention to sue for failing to protect the federally endangered Florida bonneted bat (among other species) from the destructive impacts of the Miami Wilds water park and retail development in south Florida.
