Thank you to all who came out to our monthly coffee with comrades. We read the chapter “Freedom’s Just Another Word” from the book “A Brief History of Neoliberalism” by David Harvey. Attendees expressed their wants to learn more about neoliberalism due to the cloudiness of this destructive political and economic thought.
This chapter out of the gate served to lay out the lies of neoliberalism. Often touted as an economic theory for personal “freedoms for all” neoliberalism hide behind this notion while making the ultra rich wealthier while stealing from the working class of the world. Neoliberalism is a lie!
This chapter also told the story of neoliberalism birth, from its trial runs during the war in Iraq and the Chilean Coup, the western world and the United States quickly pushed neoliberalism across the world. Through neoliberalism a new faction of wealthy class elites was born from the financialization of all forms of economy. From Reagan and Thatcher neoliberalism proved to grow the wealth of the working class and build neo colonialism.
