From the Zionist terrorism and destruction of Palestine and Lebanon, to the kidnapping and murder in Venezuela, launching yet another unprovoked war in Iran, the starvation policy of the blockade on Cuba and to the fascist ICE concentration camp being built here in San Antonio - the genocidal nature of capitalism and imperialism is revealing itself for all to see.

Oppressed Revolutionaries for Worker Power understands all of these fronts (and many more) as points of the struggle for liberation from exploitation and oppression for all peoples.

We call for everyone to join us on Saturday, October 10 for a protest and march marking three years of US/Israeli genocide against Palestine for daring to stand up to colonial apartheid!

The connections between Zionist genocide, the rule of financial, oil and tech corporations, the struggle to make ends meet, the demonization of immigrants, the crack down on resistance and the instability of climate change and ecological destruction have never been more clear. In San Antonio and across the world, we are collectively coming to the understanding that the evils we see are interconnected, our many demands are shared and the path forward is through unity and solidarity!

Be there, be loud and leave the corporate party politics of division behind!

Oppressed Revolutionaries appreciates everyone who supported and participated in our observance of Black August!

Black August is a revolutionary month to honor the fight of revolutionary Black freedom fighters and political prisoners. The four tenets of Black August include:

STUDY, FAST, TRAIN, AND FIGHT

ORWP ran programs at least once a week tying the international struggle against imperialism to the local and interpersonal struggles against fascism, poverty and oppression.

While Black August is now concluded, we continue along the revolutionary path sharper, more dedicated and more disciplined. Be on the lookout for what’s to come!

ORWP is joining the Week of Action for Q***r Liberation called by the Gay Agenda. We look forward to diving in on how occupation, war and imperialism are dangerous in every way including in the safety of the international trans community. When we fight imperialism we fight for LGBTQ+ rights and liberation.

Today on Fidel Castro Centinnel we commemorate the spirit of revolution that has, and continues, to inspire the world fighting to make it a more just place for us all. This Black August we recommit to the struggle and coupled with Fidels centennial we recommit ourselves to internationalism and socialism. What follows is a beautiful poem by Eduardo Galeano that says it all. Felicidades, Fidel, may we all be as strong as you as we follow in your footsteps. Guide us to victory through revolutionary spirit, commitment and discipline. Hasta La Victoria Siempre!

His enemies call him a king without a crown who confused unity with unanimity.
And they were right.

His enemies say that if Napoleon had published a paper like “Granma”, nobody in France would have found out about his defeat at Waterloo.

And they were right.

His enemies say he ruled by speaking a lot and listening very little, because he was more used to echoes than voices.

And they were right.

But what his enemies don’t say is that he wasn’t posing for posterity when he met the invasion’s bullets chest first, that he faced every hurricane, time and again, as its equal, that he survived six hundred and thirty-seven assassination attempts, that his contagious energy was the deciding factor in turning a colony into a country, and that it wasn’t a Mandinka spell or a miracle from God that allowed this country to outlive ten United States presidents who had tucked a napkin under their chins to eat it with a knife and fork.

And his enemies don’t say that Cuba is one of the rare countries who don’t compete in the World Cup of Doormats.

And they don’t say that this revolution, which grew up under sanctions, became what it could be and not what it wanted to be. And they don’t say that the wall between wishes and reality became bigger and wider mainly because of the imperial blockade that choked the development of a Cuban-style democracy, forcing society to militarize and bureaucratize, so that for every solution there was a problem, making excuses to justify and perpetuate it.

And they don’t say that in spite of all the in spites, in spite of outside

JOIN US FOR OUR 2ND ANNUAL BLACK AUGUST 5K

For the second year in a row Oppressed Revolutionaries for Worker Power is hosting this 5k to uplift the training tenant of Black August.

This 5k is open to anyone who is interested in getting active and fighting for liberation. Walk, run, or skate!

The liberation of our people is not an easy fight to win. It requires strong discipline and strength. Be apart of our movement to build a strong leftist community in San Antonio!!

In order to fight effectively for a better future, it is necessary to understand the social conditions in which we carry out struggle.

As part of our Black August program, join Oppressed Revolutionaries for Worker Power (12pm, Aug 15 Potion) to study the concept of internal colonialism. For many years internal colonialism was a core analytical concept guiding the fight for Black Liberation, but has been largely abandoned in recent decades.

ORWP asserts that broad understanding of internal colonialism must be revived, updated to the present conditions, and applied to our local context - in this case San Antonio, a ‘majority-minority’ low-wage city with a legacy (long-established) local ruling class and a sell-out political and cultural elite providing a veneer of progressivism to the evolution of the colonial process.

This study will aim to introduce local working class fighters to the broad framework of internal colonialism by relating it to the better understood process of direct colonialism, the historical shift to neo-colonialism and the morphing social conditions since the concept was last a core feature of revolutionary analysis in the US.
