Just listened to one of my favorite podcasts, Goal Digger with . Jenna hosted her first male guest to the show, Tony Robbins. Y’all don’t want to miss this! I felt so charged and inspired. It was the perfect push for a Monday morning.

‼️Long Post ⚠️‼️
I’ve been a long distance runner since I was 12. Truth be told I had no idea I could run for more than a mile much less run at a fast pace. 🏃🏽‍♀️My introduction to cross country came in jr. high when our athletic coaches had us all run a mile and unbeknownst to me they were timing us and scoping out who could join the cross country team. I didn’t even know what cross country meant (long distance running for those who don’t know) but apparently I ran fast enough to gain a spot on the team. And that folks is how I fell in love with running.

For so many years I ran competitively. I wasn’t the fastest and standing at below 5 feet tall my legs as you can imagine weren’t very long. If I wanted to win I had to run twice as fast as everyone else.

For years I had someone to chase; someone to challenge me. Flash forward to 20+ years later….and the only person I’m chasing is myself. I have a love/hate relationship with running. I love how it makes me feel, but boy there are so many days I dread putting on those running shoes because I know there’s hell to pay on my body. Obviously I can’t clock a five minute mile anymore, these days I’m lucky if I break a 10 but here’s what I want to say.

1️⃣ No matter where you’re at DON’T GIVE UP! Baby steps are completely ok! There’s days when I get so angry with myself that I’m not where I want to be then I remind myself that I’m doing something and at least I’m going forward. said it best, “Looking backwards f***s with your neck."
2️⃣ This is a MENTAL GAME!! If you’ve never been a runner it’s not too late. Yes, your body will hurt for a few weeks but it will adjust. Your mind is where the true battle is at. Stay strong.
3️⃣ CELEBRATE YOUR MILESTONES! You ran a mile for the first time, celebrate. You ran a mile at a faster pace than last week, celebrate. You ran without stopping, celebrate.
4️⃣ DON’T COMPARE YOURSELF!! I’m usually my biggest critic and my biggest cheerleader, but if we’re all being honest we love the torture game of comparing ourselves but it only hurts us in the end.

I hope this encourages somebody today. I know I have to remind myself of these things (a lot). ❤️

Can I reveal something personal? I work in this field because I genuinely enjoy it and I love the flexibility of creating my own schedule.

But something that pushes me even beyond that is thinking of how my strengths can help build others and allow them to focus on what only THEY can do while I cover the details. I have to say, it can turn into a pretty powerful combo.

When people ask WHY I pursued a career as an Entrepreneur in the field of Administration, I simply respond that making YOUR life better is all the reason I need. Plus, why not use my ninja admin skills to help provide for my family? 😉

Tell me what your picture-perfect weekend looks like! Friday is upon us and who doesn't love the weekend?!?! I especially can’t wait. Most of our weekends are spent as a family. Some days we love slow mornings with coffee and a morning movie followed by some outdoor time, and other days we rise early for a visit to our local farmer's market. I can’t tell you how much I'm looking forward to sunnier days and warmer weather.
