PEARLS Therapeutic Foster Care Court works with teenage girls, ages 14 - 18, preparing to exit foster care.

The PEARLS Vision:

Invest in teen girls placed in foster care to: heal from part trauma and be empowered to value their whole selves and their inherent strengths. Provide the PEARLS girls opportunities to lead healthy, educated, and successful lives. Enable the PEARLS girls to be empowered women as role models and leaders, creating positive change in our community. PEARLS is a Team Project

PEARLS provides comprehensive continuum of gender-responsive services to address: trauma healing, life-skills training, alternative education and vocational training, mental health treatment, domestic violence prevention, teen pregnancy prevention, substance abuse prevention, mentoring and strengthening families, and resiliency and self-esteem building.

Watching our girls bond with these rescued horses took our breath away! We are so grateful for heartfelt moments like these.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....s'mores, shopping and holiday fun!

PEARLS & EAGLES celebrated the holidays in style thanks to our many community partnerships. Thank you Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas for your hosting us and Alamo City Republican Women. for organizing a fantastic shopping experience.

While many youth in foster care may receive gifts, they do not always have the opportunity to give gifts to those they care about at the holidays. Giving reminds us of our self worth and strengthens relationships. PEARLS & EAGLES wants each youth to feel the joy of sharing and giving. Our youth went home with their tummys, arms and hearts full!

Thank you to the many volunteers and mentors that made this night possible.

PEARLS and EAGLES Courts were honored today to receive the Alamo Area Council Of Governments Regional Award for Government Projects of the Year. Thank you to Commissioner Calvert for the nomination.

This award is just another example of how Bexar County passionately supports youth who are aging out of foster care and is a proud moment for all of us, staff and our many volunteers, that work to ensure each young adult has a village of support surrounding them. Thank you AACOG and thank you Bexar County!
