Today is Election Day!

Over 18 statewide elected officials, along with Texas’ members of Congress, state lawmakers, district-based judges and local elected officials are up for election. This is your last chance to Vote Public Schools First in the primary!

If you've already voted, thank you! Please advocate for your family and community to vote; historically, in Texas primary elections, a relatively few people make big decisions that affect all of us.

See our list of endorsed candidates.

Huge thank you to the members who represented HEA at the TSTA Region 2 HOD.

The HEA Winter Social was a smashing success! Thank you to Linda Estrada, TSTA Vice President, who came to help and give greetings. Thank you to Maricruz Martinez, HEA President, the Executive Board, and TSTA staff for all they do for HEA. We had 147 members and guests in attendance. Anabel Perez from Schulze won both stockings, with a $340 cash prize. This is the 1st time one person has won both stockings. HEA raffled off many more cash prizes. NTA Life raffled off a 43’ TV, and Angelina Silva from HHS won it. Nancy Ramos, TWMS, shared that she used the NEA Member Benefits Student Loan Forgiveness Program, and her $130,000 loan was forgiven. If you have student loans, see if you can get your loans forgiven at https://www.neamb.com/products/nea-student-debt-navigator.

Thank you to the school board members who came by at different times and supported the employees.

Thank you to Norm, Booster’s Backyard Icehouse, who hosted us and found sponsors for the event—Martinez Associates, PLLC & Personal Injury Law firm and Lone Star National Bank (LSNB).

HEA wishes everyone a Happy Holiday Season and a Happy New Year!
