Kuné Tsa Nde Band of the Lipan Apache Nation of Texas

Kuné Tsa Nde Band of the Lipan Apache Nation of Texas The vision of the Konitsaii/Kune'Tsa/Tu Tssn Nde Band is restoring traditions and language without the BIA model for politics and government.

The Kune'Tsa Nde (aka Tu Tssn Nde Band of the Lipan Apache Nation of Texas) is first and foremost NOT a third splinter group and is not an affiliation of either the Lipan Apache Band of Texas, Inc. or the Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas, Inc. We respectfully acknowledge both groups' right of existence and admire their efforts. We are a traditionally based matrilineal society with historical ties from

Laredo to Brownsville and Northern Mexico. We as the Kune'Tsa people (" people of the Big Water") have opted to remained neutral on the issue of Federal Recognition and have focused on developing our cultural identity by means of our spiritual and traditional practices, oral histories, social and economic sovereignty,as well as autonomy of governance within the traditional band system. We refer to our people as the Lipan Apache NATION of Texas rather than use of words such as Band or Tribe. We ARE a nation made of many bands under a united banner of peace and harmony as a larger Nde community here in Texas.
