Happy Birthday, U.S. Army! 🇺🇸

Honored to attend this year’s Army Ball and celebrate 251 years of courage, sacrifice, and service.

Grateful to all who have worn the uniform and those who continue to serve today.

And of course… Go Spurs Go! 🏀

My recent reserve duty in Montana came with a pretty incredible bonus: a chance to spend a day exploring Glacier National Park. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! It wasn’t crowded and an absolutely beautiful park.

A friendly reminder: in Glacier, you're not always at the top of the food chain. Watch out for bears. I saw a BIG black bear approaching the park! 🐻

I wanted to share a behind-the-scenes look at my most recent reserve duty assignment. 🇺🇸

Over the last two weeks, I’ve been in Montana participating in Regional Cooperation 2026, a multinational training exercise bringing together military personnel from 12 partner nations.

From joint planning exercises to counter-UAS training and field operations, our focus was on strengthening partnerships and improving readiness alongside our allies.

As a Marine reservist, it’s always an honor to serve alongside military professionals from around the world. I’m grateful for the opportunity and the lessons learned that reinforce the importance of leadership, teamwork, and preparedness.

Now, I’m looking forward to getting back home to my family!

The continued spread of New World screwworm cases across Texas is deeply concerning and serves as a reminder that threats to our agricultural community require immediate action to prevent a widespread disaster.

This invasive pest poses a serious risk to livestock, wildlife, pets, and our agricultural economy. While important steps have already been taken, we need to move faster. I’m glad to see Governor Abbott prioritizing response and eradication efforts, but success will require an all-of-the-above strategy.

I’ve been monitoring this situation closely and have spoken with affected ranchers about the challenges they are facing. I will continue to track developments and advocate for aggressive, decisive action to counter this very real threat.

Texas has expanded its screwworm quarantine with Gov. Greg Abbott issuing a disaster declaration for the affected counties.

Exciting things are happening in Pct. 3. 🪏🚧🚜

Our team was proud to attend the groundbreaking for the Asian Resource Center of San Antonio, a project that will help celebrate the rich cultures and traditions of Asian Americans while creating opportunities for education, connection, and community engagement.

This new center will be a valuable addition to our community, and we look forward to seeing its positive impact for years to come. Congratulations to everyone who helped make this milestone possible!

As Tri-Chair of the Military Transformation Task Force, I’m proud to work alongside military, civic, and community leaders to strengthen and protect San Antonio's role as Military City, USA.

At our most recent meeting, we discussed exciting developments, including the South Beach renovation project, which is expected to bring more than 500 Defense Health Agency jobs to JBSA-Fort Sam Houston.

We also recognized Maj. Gen. Juan Ayala (USMC, Ret.) for his outstanding service and leadership as he retires from the City of San Antonio’s Military and Veterans Affairs Department.

Thank you to St. Philip’s College and the Good Samaritan Veterans Outreach and Transition Center for hosting us and for their continued dedication to serving those who have served our country.

Regional challenges require regional solutions.

The Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG)brings together local leaders from across our region to collaborate on issues like transportation, public safety, workforce development, services for seniors, and emergency planning.

I'm honored to serve on the Board of Directors alongside leaders who are committed to finding solutions.

When communities work together, we can accomplish more than any one city, county, or organization can on its own.
