Are you 55 or older and looking for a meaningful way to stay active, give back to your community, and earn a little extra money?

Come learn about the AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program and Senior Companion Program!

❤️ Foster Grandparents serve with children in schools and youth programs, providing mentoring, encouragement, and one-on-one support.

💙 Senior Companions help older adults remain independent by providing friendship, companionship, and support with everyday activities.

Eligible volunteers may receive:
💵 Tax-free hourly stipend
🚗 Mileage/transportation assistance

Do you have valuable information that could benefit older adults and volunteers in our community?

AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) and Senior Companion Program (SCP) are seeking guest presenters for our new Community Education Series!

We're looking for engaging presentations on topics such as:
✅ Healthy Aging
✅ Nutrition & Wellness
✅ Dementia & Caregiving
✅ Mental Health
✅ Fraud & Scam Prevention
✅ Community Resources
✅ Emergency Preparedness
✅ Technology
✅ Veterans Resources

Presentations are typically 30–60 minutes and are offered during our monthly volunteer in-service meetings. This is a wonderful opportunity to:

Looking for a meaningful way to give back? **Training classes are starting soon**, and we're looking for caring adults **55 and older** to join our Foster Grandparent Program!

By volunteering in local schools, you'll help children build confidence, improve their learning, and know someone believes in them—all while staying active, making new friends, and giving back to your community.

**Eligible volunteers may receive:**

✅ Mileage reimbursement

Every May since 1963, our nation has celebrated Older Americans Month—a time to honor the generations who built our communities and continue strengthening them every day.

At AmeriCorps, we’re proud to recognize the older adults whose service bridges generations, supports neighbors, and ensures no one is left behind.

Last year, more than 130,000 older Americans served as AmeriCorps and AmeriCorps Seniors Volunteers, contributing over 29 million hours of reading with children, supporting older adults, strengthening nonprofits, and reducing poverty across the country.

Their wisdom, dedication, and compassion make our communities stronger. This month, and every month, we celebrate them.

🌿 WE NEED YOUR HELP! (The rain is coming!)
We’re doing a last-minute push to get our new plants in the ground before Thursday’s rain, and we need some extra hands!
• When: Tomorrow at 9:00 AM
• Where: Presidio de San Saba
• The Mission: Planting, moving rocks, and clearing out weeds.
