Today and every day we are grateful for partnerships and collaboration.
But especially today.
One of our residents was not well. And we knew it. But they refused to go to the hospital for treatment.
And in reality, they have the right to refuse.
However, the Anne Street Village staff felt that the resident wasn’t actually capable in that moment of making the decision, because they didn’t know how physically ill they really were.
We reached out to one agency we partner with, but they didn’t have enough staff today to respond. So we reached out to our partners with Tidal Health, and they sent staff to us.
We informed them ahead of time of the concerns, and how this resident just wasn’t their normal self. Symptoms we were seeing that aren’t normal for this person.
2 staff members came to Anne Street, assessed the resident and we worked with them to get our resident to the hospital for the treatment they need.
We are truly grateful that this type of care is literally a phone call away for us.
We avoided costly and unnecessary ambulance ride, as the resident was taken to the Emergency Dept by our staff. They were met at the Emergency Department by the staff that came here to assess them.
Thank you to Tidal Health and all of the emergency responders who continually provide urgent care to those in need.
