It’s AND , so we’re celebrating our 2026 Charlie Walker Pitch Challenge winners all over again! Checks are going out this week, and we’ve loved catching up with each winner as they come by to grab their award.

Rindi and Matt, the second place winners of the 2026 Charlie Walker Pitch Challenge, plan to use their award to launch The Maker's Shop Co. in downtown Lindsborg. Designed as both an art supply boutique and a hands on creation space, The Maker’s Shop will offer a thoughtfully curated selection of quality art materials alongside an inviting environment where creativity—and a few joyful messes—are encouraged.

With support from their pitch challenge win, Rindi and Matt aim to create a community hub that inspires connection and imagination. In addition to retail offerings, The Maker’s Shop will feature project kits that promote creativity, emotional well being, shared experiences, and time spent making something meaningful together.

SculptureTour Salina UNWrap Party – What a Great Day!

Downtown Salina was buzzing on Saturday, May 2, as the 2026 SculptureTour officially kicked off at Campbell Plaza. The UNWrap Party unveiled 24 brand‑new sculptures, all revealed for the first time, and many of the artists were on site sharing the inspiration and stories behind their work. It was a fantastic chance to connect with the artists and get an inside look at their creative process.

I (Mitch) attended for the first time last year and was surprised by how much I enjoyed meeting the artists and hearing the stories behind their sculptures. Just a few days ago, I even caught a glimpse of one piece being un‑tarped as it was being mounted—those behind‑the‑scenes moments are always fun to see.

Events like this are just one more reason Salina is such a great place to live. Which 2026 sculpture is your fave? Post a pic in the comments 👇

Today we are celebrating Bobby's Bees as our 5th Place $1000 award winner. Bobby’s Bees, a small but growing honey producer based in Salina, began its journey in 2025 with just a few hives and a first year harvest of 48 pounds of honey. With their fifth place finish in the 2026 Charlie Walker Pitch Challenge, the team behind Bobby’s Bees is ready to expand their operation and increase production.

The award will help Bobby’s Bees add more hives and explore new varieties of honey and honey based products. Their goal is to bring more locally produced, high quality honey to the community while continuing to grow a business rooted in sustainability, craftsmanship, and Kansas pride.
