The 2026 Legislative Session is complete, and I’m proud of the work we accomplished, despite the difficulties of Republicans in the tied House refusing to join with us on many important issues.

I’m incredibly glad we delivered significant funding to stabilize Hennepin County Medical Center, a local jobs and infrastructure bill that includes $4 million for the Roof Depot project, funding for rental assistance and new housing investments, and my bill supporting the state’s medical repository program.

DFLers were able to get some good work done, but Republicans blocked many of the big changes we need to level the economic playing field for working Minnesotans. Without GOP support, we were unable to take action on the comprehensive ICE response package passed by the Minnesota Senate--including funds to help our small businesses impacted, which Republicans blocked. We were also unable to make significant progress on worker protections, affordability, or gun violence prevention.

As our representative, I’ll continue working to pass these priorities for our district. Minnesotans are watching.

ICE has created a public health crisis in our communities, and Minnesotans are suffering as a result.

DFLers in the House moved to take up the Senate's comprehensive ICE response bill, including banning ICE from hospitals to protect our most vulnerable neighbors from seeking the care they need. But Republicans voted it down.

This fight is not over, and we'll continue working to protect all Minnesotans' ability to receive health care without judgment and without persecution.

This is one of the biggest, most impactful policy wins of the YEAR. All session long, DFLers were adamant that we needed to pass legislation to save HCMC — and we just did.

I rose today to share the story of a Minnesota mother of two, a story of how too many parents fear that their kids won't return from school, or a concert, or a church.

This is not normal. We can take action to protect our children from gun violence, and give them the safe childhood they deserve. Let's vote on this comprehensive gun violence prevention bill and show Minnesotans where we stand.

I am proud to stand with neighbors from our district and across the state to deliver a simple message: Hold The Vote.

Right now, Lisa Demuth and Republicans are afraid to even allow a vote on any common-sense gun safety bill. We deserve a real debate and vote on these bills. No theatrics, no stalling, just actual conversation about a path forward for Minnesotans and the actions to match. If Lisa Demuth and Republicans were listening to Minnesotans, we would be able to vote on this bill.

HCMC Update!

05/13/2026

With only a few days left in the legislative session, we must come up with a solution to stabilize HCMC and protect access to healthcare for our neighbors.

Thank you to Rep. Agbaje for her leadership on this critical issue.
