📣 Exciting News for St. Johnsbury School! 📣

Following Monday evening's Board meeting, we are thrilled to announce that Tim Mulligan has been unanimously appointed as the next Principal of St. Johnsbury School, effective July 1, 2026.

Tim brings more than 20 years of educational experience, including nine years as Principal of Newark Street School in Vermont. Throughout the search process, he impressed students, staff, families, and community members with his commitment to building strong relationships, supporting student success, and fostering open communication.

We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Jeremy Ross for his many years of dedicated service and leadership. His contributions have made a lasting impact on our school community, and we wish him all the best in his next chapter.

📣 Meet the Principal Finalist for St. Johnsbury School

The St. Johnsbury School District is pleased to announce that Mr. Timothy Mulligan, current Principal of Newark Street School in Kingdom East School District, has been selected as the finalist for the position of Principal of St. Johnsbury School.

As part of the final selection process, Mr. Mulligan will spend the day at St. Johnsbury School on Wednesday, June 3, meeting with students, staff, families, and community members while learning more about our school community.

Families and community stakeholders are invited to stop by and meet Mr. Mulligan during either of the following public meet-and-greet opportunities:

🕝 2:35–3:30 p.m.

Throughout the day, Mr. Mulligan will visit classrooms across all grade levels, meet with staff and school leaders, and experience firsthand the learning, culture, and community that make St. Johnsbury School special.

We are proud to see and our students featured in the news following this year’s Vermont Rural Education Collaborative (VREC) Celebration of Learning!

Our 7th grade students showcased their student-led project focused on bringing hands-on science learning to our Kindergarten classrooms through interactive lessons exploring concepts like speed, momentum, and force.

This event highlighted the incredible creativity, leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving happening in schools across the Northeast Kingdom. We are so proud of our students for representing St. Johnsbury School and demonstrating the power of student voice and project-based learning.

We are pleased to share that the unofficial results show 627 votes in favor and 606 opposed. Article 2 also passed, allowing up to 50% of the FY2025 surplus to be allocated to the Capital Reserve Fund to support important facilities needs (920 yes, 313 no).
